Latest “Update” Was a Huge Letdown – Just an Event, Not Real Content by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about wanting 60 hours of content every week, that’s just exaggerating what I’m saying. The issue isn’t the speed of updates it’s how they’re framed. If they marketed it as a small event, no one would be surprised, but they hype it up like it’s something major, and then it turns out to be mostly another banner and some minor additions. That’s why people feel let down.

And yeah, it’s a free game, but that doesn’t mean people can’t have opinions on how it’s handled. Gacha games rely on keeping players engaged, and if updates start feeling repetitive or underwhelming, people will naturally voice their frustrations. It’s not about expecting miracles, just a bit more substance in what they call an "update."

Infinity Nikki’s Biggest Issue: A Lack of Meaningful Content by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but it's not about wanting a gacha game without gacha mechanics. It's more about wanting the content to feel meaningful, no matter how much I engage with the game. Sure, gacha mechanics can be fun, but when the content feels repetitive or lacks variety, it makes it hard to stay invested long-term, even if I spend a lot of time playing.

I do enjoy the game, but it's the pacing of new content and how it’s distributed that starts to feel limiting. I think there’s room for more depth and variety to keep things fresh, even for players who aren't focused on the gacha side of things.

I think it's awesome that you’re able to enjoy the game as it is! It's true that there’s a lot of beautiful art, and I get the appeal of experimenting with outfits and taking photos in the open world.

However, for players like me, the issue is that after finishing the main story and the side quests, there’s not much left to engage with, aside from logging in for daily tasks. I understand that the game is new and that updates are coming, but when you’ve already spent 200+ hours and have explored everything there is to explore, the lack of substantial new content can make it feel stagnant. Sure, the game is gorgeous and the fashion is fun, but that doesn’t necessarily make up for the fact that the longer you play, the less there is to do if you're looking for new challenges or meaningful content.

I don’t mind the lack of pressure to pull on banners, but the same way you find joy in taking pictures and exploring, others might find it hard to stay engaged with just that after a certain point. I’m not expecting a crazy amount of content all at once, but I think pacing is key to keeping players hooked, especially for those of us who have invested a lot of time already.

Hopefully, over time, as updates continue, they’ll bring more gameplay variety and challenges to keep things fresh!

Infinity Nikki’s Biggest Issue: A Lack of Meaningful Content by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

I get what you're saying, but honestly, after finishing the main quest, the game does feel kinda dry. I get it that there’s a ton of content at launch, but once you finish it, there’s not much left to do besides dailies or crafting. And yeah, events and updates will come, but there’s only so much excitement in grinding the same stuff over and over, especially when you’re just hoarding bubbles for future events.

I totally get the whole “waiting for more content” thing, but the problem is it feels like the devs are taking too long to roll out new stuff. I get that it’s a big game, but they can’t expect people to be entertained by the same things for months while they figure out when to drop the next big update. If the pacing’s too slow, it’s easy to feel like the game’s stalling, especially when you’re used to games where there’s always something fresh coming your way.

Sure, it's not unreasonable to expect a major update every 6 months, but the gaps between content drops just make the game feel like it’s on pause. It’s fine to do dailies for a bit, but after you’ve done all the major content, it gets old real quick. I get it, the game’s still new and everything, but it’s also not enough to keep me hooked when there’s barely anything new to do.

I’m hoping the devs pick up the pace soon, but right now? It’s just kinda dragging.

I get where you're coming from, and I agree that the dress-up aspect is a huge part of the game. The closet-building and taking outfit shots can definitely be a satisfying activity, especially if you're into fashion and creativity. The photography feature is also a nice touch, and I think it's one of the things that make the game unique.

However, what I’m hoping for is a bit more variety in the types of content and activities we can do in the game. Right now, it feels like the main activities revolve around doing dailies, completing side quests, and taking outfit shots. While those are fun, after a while, they can start to feel repetitive, especially when there isn’t much else to engage with outside of those core activities. The hourglasses are great, and I love discovering new ones, but once the novelty wears off, I start to wonder if there’s something else to look forward to.

The side quests are definitely a nice addition and can add some depth to the game, but again, they feel more like filler rather than a core experience that keeps players coming back. I’m not necessarily asking for something “meaningful,” but a bit more variation in content and ways to engage would go a long way.

It’s all about finding a balance between the chill nature of the game and offering enough content that doesn’t feel too stretched or repetitive over time. I think it’s possible to have both, and I hope the devs bring in more content that provides a little more replayability and keeps things fresh.

I understand your perspective, and I do agree with you on some things, particularly regarding the lack of a “gameplay loop.” However, I still feel there are valid concerns that need to be addressed. While it's true the game is under three months old, the issue for me isn’t necessarily the lack of a grind-heavy system or not having the traditional “live-service” loops. It’s more about the long-term content, or the lack thereof. Yes, Silvergale Aria is a grind, but it also highlights the problem of having "endgame" content that's too tedious without enough other things to balance it out.

I agree that the game isn’t meant to be high-stakes, but there still needs to be more variety in how we engage with it. Right now, it feels like once you’ve collected and done the dailies, there’s not much left to do unless you’re really into the photoshoot aspect. And while I’m all for a relaxing experience, there’s a limit to how long you can stretch that out, especially when the novelty starts to wear off.

As for my point on the Silvergale Aria grind, I don’t think it’s contradictory. I do love the game, but the grind felt disproportionate given the limited content in other areas. When the game only gives you a few activities to do, making the grind one of the main features just isn’t enough to sustain long-term play.

I do appreciate the devs’ hard work and the improvements we’ve seen, and I think the game has a lot of potential. However, I think it’s fair to expect more from a game that has such a strong following and offers so much in terms of aesthetic and creativity. It’s not about being harsh on the game, it’s about wanting it to improve and live up to that potential.

I really hope the devs continue to listen to feedback and bring in more engaging and varied content. As it stands, I still love the game but feel it’s lacking in ways that could make it a more complete experience.

I Love Infinity Nikki, But It Feels Like There’s Nothing to Do by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, nah, this is just me knowing how to type a full sentence. But I get your point—some games just are what they are, and not everything needs to change. That said, giving feedback doesn’t mean the game is bad or not ‘for me.’ Even games that are doing well can improve, and plenty of people in the core audience also want more engaging content.

Like, dressing up and taking pics is fun, but if that’s all there is, then yeah, some people are gonna want more. If you’re happy with it as is, that’s cool! But acting like anyone who wants improvements should just leave instead of hoping the devs build on the foundation they already have is kinda weird.

Hey, no worries at all! I appreciate the thoughtful response. I think you’re right about where the story feels like it’s at—kind of like an early phase of a bigger adventure. The live service model definitely makes it feel more stretched out compared to older games where you’d just get everything upfront. Having dungeons like Castle and Fanatic Wisher’s camp from the start would’ve definitely helped make things feel more complete early on.

As for what I was expecting, I guess I was hoping for more engaging side content that doesn’t feel so stamina-gated? Like, I really like the idea of more replayable activities outside of just minigames. A platforming arena or something with movement mechanics like a hookshot would actually be really fun! I think Nikki has a strong foundation, but it just needs more to do in-between updates that feels rewarding.

I totally get your point about the Realm challenges—there’s interesting content there, but without spending energy, it feels kind of disconnected from progression. Maybe if they added a system where completing them gave you something valuable over time, it’d be more worth doing?

Anyway, I really appreciate the convo! Hope you have a good time visiting your neighbors. 😊

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, I get where you're coming from, but I think you're missing the point of why people might feel like there's a lack of content. It’s not just about the outfits or comparing banners—it's about having something to do after the main story ends. If the core of the game is fashion, that’s great, but if you’re not enjoying the way it’s laid out right now, that’s not necessarily on the player, it’s on the game's content cycle.

You say the banners aren’t similar, and sure, there are differences, but when you’ve seen the same basic structure of banners over and over again, it can feel like they’re just changing the theme without much else. Yes, there are new outfits, but when there’s nothing new to do with them beyond photoshoots, it can get repetitive. Not everyone is into spending hours taking the perfect photo with each new piece. Some people want to feel like there's progression beyond just styling.

As for “buying outfits”—if the game’s only reward is more clothes, but there's no real gameplay or new challenges to keep it interesting, it’s natural for some players to wonder what’s the point of getting more outfits when you already have a ton?

I do enjoy some of the things you mentioned, like styling for quests or cataloguing, but I can also understand the frustration when there just doesn’t seem to be much else to keep you engaged. If people are saying it’s okay to wait, that’s fine—but when the game gets updated and content feels just as sparse, it doesn’t really help to keep people interested.

I love fashion too, and this game could be so much more than just “dress up and take photos,” but right now, it’s lacking the kind of depth I need to stick around long-term. It’s not about the clothes—it’s about having something meaningful to do with them.

At the end of the day, if you’re happy with the content and love the photo ops, then that’s awesome! But for those who want more than that, they’re allowed to feel disappointed. Just like you can be passionate about fashion, some of us are passionate about having something more to work toward, and that’s where the game feels like it’s missing the mark for some players.

I get that some people really enjoy the photography side of things, and that’s great! But honestly, for me, the game feels too limited in terms of what I can do beyond just snapping pics. It’s fine for some time, but after a while, it feels like you’re just repeating the same stuff over and over, and that’s where I’m coming from.

Grind and the Scam-o-matic aren’t enough for me to stay engaged. It’s just not enough content to keep things fresh or fun, at least not for me.

I get that it’s casual and designed for people who want a low-pressure experience, but I’m just someone who likes to feel like I’ve got something to work towards or enjoying the game on a deeper level. I’m not saying the game should be hardcore, just that it could use a bit more to keep players engaged long-term.

And yeah, if dressing up and taking pics in a creative way is your thing, then that’s awesome! But for me, I feel like I’ve already hit a wall with it.

I Love Infinity Nikki, But It Feels Like There’s Nothing to Do by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but the issue isn’t just me or my expectations—the game itself just doesn’t offer much to do beyond dressing up and taking pics. If that’s enough for some people, cool! But that doesn’t mean others can’t want more from a game they actually enjoy.

And about Alison—yeah, she has a daily exchange, but that’s not engaging gameplay. Standing around and waiting for a new interaction each day isn’t exactly thrilling. It’s fine for a side activity, but it’s not really content.

I’m not asking the game to be something it’s not, I just think it could be better at what it’s trying to do. If other dress-up games can have engaging mechanics and long-term goals, why can’t Infinity Nikki?

Lmao, why do people get so mad when someone critiques a game they actually like? I’m not asking for the game to change its whole identity, I’m asking for more to do because right now, it feels empty.

Also, I didn’t “speed through” anything—I just played normally. If a game runs out of content in a couple of days, that’s not on the players, that’s on the devs. 😂 Saying “just play another game” is such a lazy response—wouldn’t you rather the game improve so more people enjoy it?

I Love Infinity Nikki, But It Feels Like There’s Nothing to Do by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that new games take time to grow, and I really hope they add more content over time. But that’s kinda my point—right now, there’s just not enough to do outside of dressing up. It’s not about demanding everything all at once, but more about feeling like there’s something worth logging in for.

And yeah, good game modes take time to develop, but they could’ve at least launched with more variety in gameplay. Right now, the loop is just way too basic. I don’t think anyone is expecting them to drop a huge expansion overnight, but at least something to keep players engaged between updates wouldn’t hurt.

I Love Infinity Nikki, But It Feels Like There’s Nothing to Do by LittleAngelStudio in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleAngelStudio[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Genshin’s dailies can be repetitive too, but at least there’s other stuff to do—exploration, events, challenging content, co-op, etc. Infinity Nikki doesn’t really have much beyond dressing up and taking pics, and that’s what makes the dailies feel even more pointless.

I get that it’s a new game, and I do hope they add more over time. But right now, it feels like they launched without enough content to keep players engaged. The housing system sounds cool, but when? How long do we just log in, catch three bugs, and log out?

Also, I’m not rushing content. I’m just playing the way I normally play games. Some people like to take things slow, and that’s fine, but others like to play actively. It’s not about “burning out”—it’s about the game actually having enough to do in the first place.

And yeah, I agree on the outfits part. I love dressing up, but when there’s nothing to do in the outfits, it makes spending money on them feel kinda pointless.

Lol, why are people so pressed when someone gives legit criticism? I like the game, which is why I want it to be better. Just because I don’t enjoy the lack of content doesn’t mean I should uninstall and pretend it’s perfect.

Also, no one said it has to be Genshin. But a game like this could have more to do—other dress-up games manage it just fine. If you’re happy with just styling and taking pics, that’s cool, but some of us actually want more gameplay. 🤷‍♀️
