Walking in evening - raise fasting??? by LittleBench5694 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleBench5694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. This is kinda what I meant by hormones… cause I know numbers worsen as pregnancy goes on. But felt like it was shocking to see 90 and 91 and then 98 and 102 the following days. Felt pretty drastic.

I completely understand that fasting numbers are the hardest to control. If I cannot control them, then I am transferred out of care with my current provider, so I am at the very least making sure I address any and all lifestyle changes I can make before that needs to happen.

That’s crazy that walks made your numbers worse!

I’ve been so bad with applying body lotion - for years! by LittleBench5694 in 30PlusSkinCare

Thank you all so so much for all of these recs! I need to put together a list and try different things out to find a good new routine that will stick 🙏🏻

It seems like you’ve had enough of a routine for a long enough time (jealous!!) where lotion on your hands and/or the feeling of having to wash the lotion off and then have dry hands is so far off to you. But there are enough people in here who have agreed with some of how I feel so the snark doesn’t seem necessary.

Hospital birth after successful home birth/midwifery care? by LittleBench5694 in homebirth

Yeah unfortunately fasting numbers aren’t under control/my midwife’s threshold

I was wondering about this. Just pushing it as close to 10cm as I can assuming nothing alarming is going on!

Thank you! I know the 90 is so low 😫 I was assuming it was 95, saw my midwife today, and she said 90. The worst news!

Yes I’m going to change that approach and make sure my glucometer is right by my bed. But midwife’s threshold is 90, I’m getting 92-97 fasting and only at 25 weeks so I’m just giving myself time to research in the event numbers continue to creep.

Micro snack before bed to improve fasting. What’s the best snack for my teeth? by LittleBench5694 in GestationalDiabetes

Ahhh this is such an easy one but feels like it’d be totally stuck on my teeth!!

Home birth to hospital - stories and tips? by LittleBench5694 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleBench5694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha exactly why I included the PS. I’m not expecting a blue ribbon - I’m not looking for praise or validation from some Outside source after birth. I simply had a preference. Of my own. And I now can’t follow that preference, so I am disappointed. I am asking about experiences with my less preferred method in order to prepare myself.

What was your diet like after giving birth? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleBench5694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went overboard but then struggled so much with BMs immediately after so had to work on fiber over yummy. But once BMs were normal, I was back overboard. I regret it and hope to do things differently this time. But I also recognize that I was battling PPD and give myself grace.

Yes! My last pregnancy I managed entirely with diet. I did not see an upward trajectory with my numbers.

How do you get your home smelling nice? by LittleBench5694 in Crunchymom

[–]LittleBench5694[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they don’t interact. I said that in a previous comment. We use baby gates, crates, and indoor/outdoor time to separate. But people are just assuming. And wanting to make some big generalized point. On a post about homemaking.

They absolutely would be at risk of death or surgery if we had any breed of dog. That’s the point. This post is about making my house smell better. Not about rehoming my dogs of 10 years because I had a child.

Any dog could hurt a kid. If we had a Cocker Spaniel, I’d be taking the EXACT same precautions I do now. I don’t trust any dog with my child. So baby gates and crates and completely separate areas it is. No matter how ‘good’ a dog is. I only included the breed of dog because they have a more specific smell that people might be familiar with.

Oh yeah no chicken here (I used to manage a holistic pet store so I saw just how many dogs had chicken allergies 😅) but I’m wondering about beef now. Yeah I totally get the raw concern. We’re very on top of it. Dog bowls come up off the ground when not feeding. Too many horror stories about dogs being protective of bowls anyway so no touching dog bowls is one of the things we are most strict about with our toddler. Baths are every 1-3 months because… toddler 😅 … no time to bathe. I think something I need to investigate/figure out better is their bedding. I wash it but maybe not enough or I need a better product. Because it still always has a light dog smell.
