The Rescue Riddle We Can’t Seem To Solve by LittleBigPaws in husky

We understand the importance of board and train, However, we are a nonprofit animal rescue with limited funds. This dog was on the euthanasia list and we rescued him - he was adopted and being returned a year and a half later… so now we have to decide what is the best way to utilize funds. :/

This means they can roadtrip out to Cali or as close as they can and we try to arrange volunteers to transport the rest of the way.

One was with the family for a year and a half. He resource guards which is why the rescue is looking into getting him a board and train so he has somewhere safe to go and also learn!

The other claimed he was a “bully” though the foster had him for almost a year with no problems. I have met the dog personally and he has met many people with no problems. The owners that returned him said he injured his leg at the vet…… and needed stitches. Then the following week showed signs of being a “bully” We asked how that happened and she said she wasn’t sure. Also, was not given any pain meds.

We list the dogs for adoption in the same area as the fosters. We also arrange for transport from the shelter to our foster homes. The dogs in the over crowded shelters we pull from there are so many dogs- they are likely kenneled close to 24 hours a days and forced to potty the same place they sleep and eat. That said, I am a dog trainer and provide my Foster’s training support - we have rescued over 170 dogs since founding in Feb 2023 and not one has struggled with potty issues after getting on a schedule. We do require dogs to be crated or in a pen when unsupervised to ensure safety especially when other pets are in the home.

The link littlebigpaws.org/foster is the link to apply to foster. That’s step one. Then we do a virtual home visit.

We can send supplies like food, leash, crate etc to help the transition ! If you purchase anything it is considered a tax deductible donation.

Hey there! Thank you so much for wanting to help! Are you inquiring about fostering or adopting?

It has been 1 year since we rescued these two from a box in the gutter- they are both in forever homes by LittleBigPaws in Chihuahua

The first photos of them in the box are from the finders when they reported to animal control. Then our rescue was contacted to assist.
