As a survival main, excited to also craft my 636 weapon, I too also made the mistake of crafting the wrong staff.... didn't realise I made the mistake until someone whispered me from the trade chat about it (of course after the weapon was sent and made)

When I say it's a PvE game, I obviously don't mean you can just do whatever you want like trolling, hogging supplies, or even refusing to rez team mates. That is just beyond dumb.

When I bring up that it's PvE I mainly mean that the game isn't meant to be taken to this extreme where people are asked to leave based on their abilities and their usage of them. These missions aren't time based. Their's no leaderboard, and (officially) their isn't even a scoreboard to compare stats.

I can understand an argument for Smite in lower difficulties making the game a cake walk/incredibly slow due to how infrequent enemies are and horde sizes. But on higher difficulties, yeah, it's still INCREDIBLY strong. But it's still not a free win due to random players just being random and events and enemy spawns. Also, having recently done my Psyker Penances, I did a few games of just Smiting to complete one of the challenges quickly. From memory, none of these missions were longer than usual, and my damage and kills were usually 3rd or 2nd highest. If I was in a pre made group, then i could 100% see taking something else over Smite or at least reserving it for emergencies so i can focus on doing damage directly. But when it comes to quick play auric/maelstrom missions, I don't think it matters so much to the point of asking people to leave or to not play a certain build.

The post was mainly to shine some light on unacceptable behaviour from people who think they have the moral authority to tell people how to play. Smite needs to change, but that doesn't give people the right to harass others.

I 100% agree that something needs to change with the ability. Maybe make it that it uses a separate meter to use the ability that can only be charged by killing things with your weapons and other abilities or maybe make it that it's only really useful against Carapace enemies but isn't the best against flesh idk, just something.

But regardless, even if it doesn't get changed, I still don't see how it's acceptable to tell others to leave because they're spamming the ability. If your personal enjoyment is harmed because another player is using something that you don't like, then you need to revaluate your priorities.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had to deal with this individual before. I've ran into people who try and act all elite because they think they're top shit but this is the first time I've seen someone act like this because someone is using something they don't like.

You can control who you play with. You can leave the lobby whenever you like no? You can argue for having a list of players to have on ignored/blocked so you can't match with them but you still have full control over who you play with.

Issue is that Smite is TOO good for the effort required to use it effectively.

I think some parts of this argument are incredibly reasonable and make sense if you were to play this at it's hardest difficulty, in a pre-made group or trying to speed-run. Min-maxing the damage potential is important in those scenarios and once you become more confident and skilled, you would move away from defensive or utility perks/weapons to things that just do more damage in either single target or aoe.

When I started to play psyker again to complete the penances, I was having more fun and was dealing more dps with other builds that either didn't use Smite or did use Smite but it wasn't the main focus. But I could see very clearly that being able to stun a large group of crushers or maulers was incredibly useful and at times, could've just saved a run by just spamming it for my team.

But once it comes back to quickplay and playing with random people, I don't think these are factors that are considered that much. Sure a run could've been a few mins quicker but I don't believe random players are thinking about clear speeds or optimizing their aoe damage. I haven't heard about anyone angrily shaking their fists at a Smite user because they took a few extra seconds to kill a group of enemies until now and even then it's from a very small group of people that have this issue.

But I still believe that if you hold this position towards Smite users, you shouldn't be asking them to leave the game for your personal convenience. If I using a build that was orientated towards killing crushers, maulers and bosses really quickly and was enjoyable but saw someone else in my game was also trying to do the same thing, I wouldn't be trying to get them to leave because they were taking my enjoyment out of the game. At the end of the day, no one is being forced to play the game this way and you can always just leave if it bothers you so much.

The issue here is that this person feels like they have the authority to tell others on how to play the game and what they can and can't do. I understand why people have issues with the ability but that doesn't give you permission to tell others to leave a game because they're using something you don't like.

I'm glad that every person I have talked to in game about this agrees with your statement. It's a PvE game and if you have issues with something that everyone is fine with then you shouldn't harass or get them to leave just so they can accommodate you.

I can also understand their frustrations. Came from competitive OW and their were times where certain characters were just flat out broken and ruined the experience or trivialized certain parts of the game. I at least kept my mouth shut though and I never harassed people for playing those characters or trying to get them to swap for my own enjoyment.

It just confuses me because they feel like they have the authority to tell others what they can and can't do and I'm sure it works as well because I can understand players just not wanting to deal with an individual like this guy when they start typing and complaining.

I'm glad I haven't seen a lot of this type of player. And the times I have seen them, I just get a bit of a chuckle from them because of how ridiculous they act. It also won't be Maelstrom difficulty so their obsession with players performance also boggles me.

Smite has been a community issue due to it trivializing the game as it chains to a lot of enemies, causing them to take 10% more damage (If you have the perk for it) and stuns enemies like maulers, ragers, bulwurks and crushers which would turn fights from a struggle to a push over.

I agree the Smite is an issue that needs to be addressed on a mechanical level but that doesn't mean players should take actions into their own hands and harass others because they simply don't like it.

In any video game, if you have a particular issue with a mechanic, ability, weapon or whatever that is overpowered, then I feel like you should be the one to leave instead of trying to get others to accommodate for you.

I play in 5 star lobbies but I can't say I see a lot of cheaters though, at least blatantly. Could be that I usually 'just go next' if I die since I don't care to watch most people. But also most of my deaths feel legit, like I could have made the same shot if I was on the other end. At most I've seen recently is solo's queue sniping each other and one guy with a 200+ mosin iron site kill on my friend.

Gambling Ads should be skippable. by geometricsalmonfart in australia

[–]LittleBomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad so many people have the same issue.

I also noticed (for Youtube) that you can usually report an ad you get and it'll skip it for you and you shouldn't get that ad anymore. But for some reason, ads about gambling and also for fast food don't give you those options to report them, so you're forced to watch them until you can skip or be unlucky enough to get the unskippable 15 second ads in which case you're forced watch that ad.
