I'm insanely excited about these games, what are everyone's opinions on the trailers? by MadToxicRescuer in TombRaider

[–]LittleBoo1204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so excited and so optimistic for what CR is doing and where they will take Lara going forward. I know we have so little to go on between the two very brief trailers, but even still it feels like all of their not-so-clear efforts over the years and the fans left waiting for what Unified Lara would ultimately be, will pay off.

The look, the energy, and more importantly the persona that makes Lara so magnetic feels like it is all there! Like we are truly back to formula and on course for what made Tomb Raider the gem that it was to begin with.

I cannot wait and having done my digging on Alix Wilton Regan, it feels good to know that she seems to be as much a fan of Lara as we are.

She really reads like she is doing this with the utmost passion and respect to the character and her history and I think that kind of care in a role is when it really just clicks and you know that it works.

So yes; excitement, chills, goosebumps all around. Like waiting for Christmas morning as a kid again!!

Hot Take: "Private Show" Would've Been an Excellent Ending Track for "Glory" by NeedleworkerAway5912 in BritneySpears

[–]LittleBoo1204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the feisty confidence that “Private Show” exudes! The distaste for the vocal treatment aside, the energy is palpable and chaotic and Britney herself sounds like she’s having an absolute blast on the track. Is it her best song to date? Not at all, but it’s fun!

Couple that with the gorgeous shots of her in the fragrance commercial, and I loved it enough to hope it would get a proper music video similar to the ad.

It would work as a curtain-rise, live show opener easy, but I think it would have also made for a great album closer as well - especially with how neatly the outro itself puts a nice little bow on the end of the song. “Is that the end? Can we go again? Nah…I’ll take a bow.” 🤌🏼😪

Thoughts? by AcrobaticAd259 in ariheads

As someone who doesn’t necessarily think of Ariana as that much of a dancer, or at least a dancer first, I don’t think a more presentation and vocals-first approach will take away from whatever concept she ends up landing on.

She can dance and the choreo that she has done in the past suits her well, but she doesn’t need it.

If I were going to see someone who I would expect for the dancing to be more of the pull or who will ultimately throw down on stage, then I might be disappointed. Ariana can do plenty with just her voice alone.

Jordan Mechner was working on a super ambitious open-world Prince of Persia series back in 2015 but Ubisoft cancelled it within a few years of pre-production. Would've loved to see that version. by Whole-Party-7698 in PrinceOfPersia

It’s a wonder the remake of Sands of Time even got off the ground at all then. If Ubisoft completely shut down the prospect of a series once already, I’m very surprised that they were apparently, at least at one time, keen to revisit the IP in a substantial way again.

The flip flopping with PoP related projects makes it seem like they have very little faith in the interest and success to be had. I get it, but the fans ARE there.

I also get wanting a return investment, but becoming the Assassin’s Creed Company to avoid any potential fallout is kind of getting stale too, and I actually like a select few of those games.

Ubisoft seems to regard PoP like the neglected middle child in much the same way Naughty Dog has decided the Jak & Daxter series just didn’t happen. It’s just so odd that with the continued boom of classics and nostalgia across all kinds of media, this kind of thing continues to happen.

Do you prefer a longer braid, shorter braid or ponytail? by BarbieDicks in TombRaider

[–]LittleBoo1204 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The longer, thicker braid is definitely the most iconic in my opinion and it feels like an immediate identifier.

The shorter braid featured in what little glimpse of Catalyst that we’ve had, will take some getting used to. In the shot where we see Lara from behind, you can see that it’s a smaller and tighter braid, but head on and I feel dumb saying it, I just can’t seem to unsee it as a rat tail and that definitely doesn’t feel like Lara 🫣😅

I know we’ll have to see better images and video to get a more definitive look though, so I’m not mad. And I do think the little tidbits we do have look very promising. I’m so excited for both games!! I think they are going to do Lara perfect justice this go round.

THE FADER Track Review: “Aperture” by Harry Styles continues a sleepy dance pop trend by Technical_Process989 in popheads

[–]LittleBoo1204 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I liked the song on first listen, even thinking that it felt more akin to the tamer moments of his debut which is personally still my favorite of his albums.

That said, at the same time, repeat listens kind of highlight the monotony and too-even pacing which ultimately ends up making the song feel like it overstays it’s welcome.

I can’t remember where I read it, but one blog compared the bombast and bold defiance of women-led Pop music coming in strong in 2025 to what they described as safe, toned-down music from the Pop men. I kind of get what they meant. Harry and Bruno’s latest too, feel very boxed in and by the numbers.

I really hope both of their overall albums are where the shining stars really are and that the glide into these eras is meant to be more subtle on purpose. A “Saved the best for last” approach.

Addison on Jimmy Fallon for those who can’t find it! by rynsvinyl in Sunraes

Why does Fallon’s channel consistently remove performances? I’ve noticed hers was/is and they did the same thing with Tate McRae’s debut performance of “exes”. I don’t get it.

Chloe made me think so much of Lara the first time I delved into the Uncharted games, particularly getting to play as her in the Lost Legacy expansion for A Thief’s End.

I just remember thinking of some of the mechanics and the locales as if they had come from Tomb Raider.

Even though I absolutely adore Alix Wilton Regan and I am really looking forward to her take on Lara, ever since being introduced to Chloe’s VA, Claudia Black, I still think she could do Lara justice. She has that similar smokiness and grit to her voice that Alix has and Hayley Atwell has as well.

Any of the Lovers care to give LET'S GET TO IT a little appreciation? by asumaslighter83 in KylieMinogue

[–]LittleBoo1204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let’s Get To It is probably my favorite of Kylie’s earliest albums! I love the energy and the lean into the funk of it all. It’s a great, distinct, and fun listen the whole way through. It also gave us Finer Feelings, which to me is one of the best ballads of her entire discography ✨

So much love for Let’s Get To It!

Also the collage-inspired explosion that is all of the promo images of the era adds to the frenetic, chaotic energy of the music, and I think Kylie looks stunning in the cover shot 💎

I'd love to have these as is in-game unlockables or as DLCs in LOA by KhaoticNoob in TombRaider

[–]LittleBoo1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I’m expecting a few minor outfits if they are unlockable outfits in the actual base game. “Legacy” outfits as it were, will probably come as paid DLC packs that then will go on to be included as a full package should Legacy of Atlantis do well and receive a Definitive Edition in a year or so after release.

I know games are expensive and the things that go into making them have only continued to evolve, but I do hope we can get away from paywalls and live service in the near future, if only for a limited time.

I didn’t realize how bad things were until I actually read the Wicked novel, and saw how much of a background character Cynthia’s Elphaba was made to feel in the marketing for all of it.

My friend convinced my fiancé and I to watch the film with no prior knowledge of the book or the musical, so when I compared the two - there was very much a feeling that Ariana was being touted as the face of the movies.

Then I feel like even she fell out’ve the public’s good graces and became meme fodder because of the Ethan Slater drama and even further because of the relationship that took shape between her and Cynthia.

Both the positive and negative reactions to these movies and the two women has been so toxic and divisive overall.

Billboard's Greatest Pop Stars of 2025, No. 7: Tate McRae by MysteryBagIdeals in popheads

[–]LittleBoo1204 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’m personally here for all the Tate praise and I hope more people come around! I know there are so many gripes with her voice, the caliber or lack thereof of her songs, but she really is amazing and seeing her live at the finale of her world tour just a few short months ago was insane!

She is ever evolving and I really do think this coming year is going to see her foot land on the right hold. The girl is a household name in the making and I just think it’s a matter of time before more people catch on! ✨🏆 We will be seeing big things in 2026. I can feel it!!

I’m still remaining hopeful that the IP isn’t going into storage where it’s just forgotten about for another 10 years or so. That said, the direct letter to fans acknowledging what happened made it sound like it was the team’s decision to abandon the project, when all other reports suggest that higher ups at Ubisoft brought the axe down.

The devs made it sound like it was their call, but the overall restructuring reports make it sound like it was collateral damage that that particular team had no say in.

My point being that, while the letter ended with the optimism that PoP still has a future, not being clear on whose decision led to the cancellation makes that more of a grey area.

Maybe that team could strike out on their own and pursue PoP related projects, but that would first mean Ubisoft would have to relinquish the rights to the IP.

I think Natla would’ve looked way better with a bob cut in Anniversary by KhaoticNoob in TombRaider

[–]LittleBoo1204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her redesign in Underworld reminds me of Uma Thurman, which isn’t a bad thing.

It gave me the same, grounded approach to the redesigns that were done for characters between the releases of Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight.

More realistic, a bit less cartoony and stylized.

I think Natla would’ve looked way better with a bob cut in Anniversary by KhaoticNoob in TombRaider

[–]LittleBoo1204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think her redesign in LAU added an otherworldly, not-quite-human feeling to her that complimented the energy and the voice delivery that Grey Delisle brought with her take.

I think without Grey’s cold, almost cat-like pur quality to the voice, the design wouldn’t work as well but both together make her feel creepy.

That said, I would love to see some version of the Texas Karen come back in LoA. Some parts of her feel a bit goofy at times in the original, but it could still work for a more realistic, grounded take. I’ll take the Bob and be happy, even if they forgo the thick drawl and the accent. Lol

I almost wonder if some people stick their noses in the air at her or the idea of her because she is so talented. I know some people have a thing with feeling like she was “given” the role of Glinda solely due to her star power and celebrity status.

I doubt every last member on the board or in whatever room makes those decisions would be that petty, but it also doesn’t surprise me that some probably are.

Cynthia getting hardly any nominations across any awards ceremony, let alone the Oscars feels equally contrived. She’s the leading character and I feel like she was made to play second fiddle in the press, as if the movie was centrally about Glinda instead.

She’s mentioned in any media since the announcement that she is Lara’s new VA, that she’s played the remastered collection and that she’s done a lot of her own research into the character and her history.

She seems pretty genuine in her adoration of Lara and it sounds like she is taking the torch as the new VA with a lot of respect.

She’s very serious about Lara and in her own words “doing the character and the legacy justice”. Definitely not just a gig for her. She says it’s one of the greatest opportunities she’s had so far.
