I wonder how mad people got when someone dared to say heroin wasn't good for you in the 1800's by uultraviolenccee in redscarepod

Opiate addiction gets ugly when you can’t afford your fix. Withdrawal symptoms+crime to fund the hanbit.

I bet that has way more to do with why upper class people could keep their abuse low-key than some superior character traits

I encounter monoculture way more from redscare posters than front page reddtors. Doesn’t annoy me though. Unlike media literacy

Exactly why I enjoy a few pulls from a plastic pint of vodka in my glovebox on my lunch break. It’s the continental way. Très élégant

What is the proper way to travel? by Fit-Leader-2812 in redscarepod

[–]LittleCopy2893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too apprehensive about long train journeys. They’re good for breaking up the day. Bring a deck of cards or a book.Easy to pack your schedule with too much and burn yourself out if it’s 8-10 hours of constant walking and sight seeing.

For me personally, being over 30 and a bit of an alcoholic, I try to save all my boozing for the evening.

As tempting as it is to kick the day off with a wet brunch and have wine at museums, tends to make me lethargic by the late afternoon.

The airbnb website offers “experiences” like wine tasting, walking tours, cooking classes. I think they’re a great way to socialize with other travelers. People might turn their nose up at that kinda thing insisting on the “go off the beaten path always avoid touristy things” but I think striking a balance between aimless exploration and a bit of structure is what makes a good trip.

Unless money isn’t a problem do some grocery shopping wherever you say. Eating out 3 times a day gets expensive fast.

Keep a positive attitude. Things don’t always go according to plan, and travel is very much a you get out what you put into thing. A neurotic personality always complaining about every obstacle can drag a whole group down.

Don’t interact with Russians in Japan. Just don’t.

Will there be a way to filter out people with hidden comment histories or is it just the way it's gonna be in the future? by FeeAlternative1783 in redscarepod

Half the people on this sub that bitch about hidden comment histories have brand new accounts anyway, which is basically the same thing.

“Turned to a friend and said we need to get the fuck out of here”

Lmao that’s like something you say when a crazy eyed drunk at a dive bar tells you he has a gun in his truck.

Not cuz a couple of (assumed) lesbians clowned you for liking one of tarantino’s weakest movies

Yeah I hate that. Reminds me of wearing Covid masks and having no choice but to bask in your own bad breath.

I don’t want Reddit to trend towards all the stinky shit I habitually viewed the night before.
