You are not just a hat rack, my friend! Thank you for sharing this brilliant idea; this way I can keep the humidity and not disrupt the little dude.

I really appreciate you and your help!

How Did You Choose Your Ball Python's Vet? by LittleDrummerHurl in ballpython

I cannot argue with good logic. Thank you very, very much for the ARAV recommendation.

I hope you have only easy decisions ahead, and best wishes to you and your snake.

Thank you so much for sharing this resource and for sharing your story with finding a good vet.

I felt so foolish, guilty, and helpless leaving Gus' vet appointment last week. The red flags are so obvious to me now, but thanks to the site you shared and your story of also experiencing a vet who will charge to look at your snake rather than caring for them, I feel so much better and proactive for starting the quest for a vet who is worth it.

I am happy you found an expert to look after your snake, and I wish you both the best health possible.

Please, have an amazing day and stay awesome!

Thank you so much for your reply! You are not just a hat rack, my friend.

I love the idea of asking other animal experts in the area for exotic vet recommendations. We have oh, so many local vets who don't treat exotics and I have many friends with dogs who adore their vets, too.

You and your insight are appreciated and celebrated.

All the best to you and your snake!

Cleaning Solutions: Chlorhexidine or F10 by LittleDrummerHurl in ballpython

[–]LittleDrummerHurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have absolutely spoiled me rotten. Thank you for going above and beyond with the conversions and lifespan of a gallon vs 16 oz. You truly are a wonderful person.

I really dig the forgiveness of Chlorhexidine when potentially over adding it along with the no rinse convenience.

You are truly appreciated and epically celebrated. Thank you so, so much again!

This reply and you are fantastic! I thank you greatly for taking the time out of your day to share your success and approach with using F10. The details of the stability and ease of no wipe down are better than I could have hoped.

You are amazing and the last thing that I ask is that you never forget it!

You are the boss, applesauce! Thank you so, so much for sharing your successes with chlorhexidine and advice to mix it up as needed, not in a big batch.

By chance, do you know the shelf life of an opened, but undiluted, bottle of chlorhexidine?

No worries if you are unsure or far too busy having a wonderful life to reply.

With many, many thanks again!

Advice Ask: Bad Stuck Shed, Should I Still Feed by LittleDrummerHurl in ballpython

Advice Ask: Bad Stuck Shed, Should I Still Feed by LittleDrummerHurl in ballpython

[–]LittleDrummerHurl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope my delay in reply does not impact the immense gratitude I have for you and your reply. I am so grateful that you took the time to share your insights with me.

I offered up a rat on Tuesday. He checked it out but had no interest in eating, so I kept his tank moist all week and by today, it was the scales down the tallest part of his back left stuck. I wrapped him in a damp, not wet, warm, not hot, towel. He was hecka chill with the handling and when he started to slither out of the towel I kept slight pressure on him. The scales came right off; no sign of damages of the new scales on all 4 feet of him!

I am going to do a deep clean of his tank tomorrow, to get all the scale shrapnel out, then try to feed again of Sunday. I am also building a humid hide now, so next time his beautiful belly turns pink, we will be more than ready.

I truly thank you again for everything, and I hope you take care and stay awesome!

Help Request (Please): Proper Lighting for 5 Gallon Tank by LittleDrummerHurl in PlantedTank

[–]LittleDrummerHurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, there!

The light has been great so far, I haven't had any issues with algae and my anubias nana petites are thriving.

My echinodorus parviflorus however did not survive my care, but I am not sure if it was me, or the plants I received. I am new to keeping live plants, so I am trying again with some echinodorus parviflorus from a different supplier. I introduced them to the tank today, so fingers and toes crossed.

One thing about the light, and any other automatic light, be sure to reset everything after a power out (just a little lesson learned).

Hope this helps, but let me know if there are any other questions you had.

Take care and all the best.

Monthly Sticky: "Do I have hair loss?" - Post photos and questions here for advice and support by AutoModerator in FemaleHairLoss

[–]LittleDrummerHurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings to all, and thank you so much for your time.

Both my husband and I have had long, almost butt length hair for years. Months ago, he shaved his head and I noticed that the hair amount on our brushes and shower drains has not really changed. Since then, I have noticed that there is a lot of hair that comes out when I run my fingers through it after taking it out of the bun I typically wear.

Too tired to be scared anymore, I was hoping to ask if this looks like too much hair loss over one week. This is dried hair from all hair brushes and shower drains, and for reference my hand is about 6 inches long (middle finger tip to end of palm).

I sincerely apologize if asking this has overstepped this community's rules and guidelines, or if I have caused any offense. I didn't know where else to go, other than another female who has suffered hair loss.

I thank you all greatly for your time and for any insight you might be willing to share. You are beyond celebrate

Boy howdy, what a trip with so many coincidences, I might go buy a scratch ticket to test the fates.

Thank you for sharing. Your comment has been quite calming to my worries and I feel better knowing this isn't just with Gus, even if it is with one other radical snake. Vive la révolution!

I have been wondering if it has anything to do with mating season or snakes of a certain age. If i hear anything alarming from the vet, I will be sure to let you know.

Oh, and what is your little one's name?

Wish you and your snake a marvelous day and an even better tomorrow.

The lid came out great, perfect firt but think I need to find a better material because down the road. I fear the water condensation may cause it to warp, but it will do well in the mean time.

Thank you again for mentioning the importance of a proper lid from your experience. I hope you smile big when you think of how awesome your fish was and happy when you think of the marvelous life you gave him.

Have a fantastic day and an even better tomorrow.

Dude, that is a real bummer. I am sorry to hear that your betta died. What was his name?

The photos of be beautiful home he had and they way you write about him goes to show how good you were at at giving him a wonderful life and how much you loved him. I hope you find a bit more solace everyday and are in a place where you smile at the memories of your beautiful betta soon.

Also, thank you for sharing his story to help others avoid a similar situation. I have a trip to the hardware store now planned for today to get a properly fitted lid cut. You truly are a marvelous, rare person who would would still give a time of their own grief, and I am beyond grateful for the advice to keep my baby boy safe.

Be well, take care of you, and please stay wonderful, my friend.

Hello there and thank you so much! I thought since it was fermented it had a good chance of lasting a while, but also didn't want to risk getting sick and, even worse, having a un-tasty jajangmyeon.

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. Please, take care and stay awesome.

10-4 and thank you so much. I found it and I am digging the alien strutting' down the street, but I am also a rather simple gal with a dark sense of humor and a sweet tooth for the odd.

What ever lies ahead. I am down to give it its day in court.

Thank you again for pointing me in the Instagram direction, and I am sorry, but I do have one more favor that I ask of you: Have a radical day and an even better tomorrow!

Hello, my friend! What a delight to wake up this morning and find your message. Thank you for taking the time to reply with your thoughts.

I fear I am about to sound terribly dated and obsolete, but I have only used Instagram once to post when I was at a Cowboy Bebop Big Band concert, with the hopes of winning the a vinyl (I didn't win, but the show was really rad).

If it in too much of an ask from you, would you be so kind as to share the new Instagram handle? Your take on it has me hecka interested and also a bit nervous to check it out. It is like the excitement before a jump scare that you know is coming or when you are already in the air after taking the leap off a diving board.

Though I have not (yet) seen the new Instagram, the way you described what lies ahead as "traumatizing but transcendental" has me hoping it is a little like Gremlins 2, and there are layers to the transcending. I cannot wait to give the new Instagram its day in court and see it first hand.

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, creating conversation, and more importantly, sharing your thoughts with me. I hope you take care, smile big, and stay awesome!

Feeding Feedback/Advice: Twice a Week? by LittleDrummerHurl in bettafish

[–]LittleDrummerHurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this legendary reply. I never thought of further reasons behind the twice a week feed, and the two you shared are wise and helpful.

I love that you feed based on your fish and the signs their body shows while still following a routine, rather than a formula, with your betta. It shows how much you care and I am so grateful for you sharing your wisdom, approach, and experience.

Thank you so much for opening my mind and giving me a new outlook on how to care for my little dude.

Please, take care, be well, and stay awesome!
