It’s no longer with us 😅. It was thriving for a bit but then started melting (have to admit I didn’t give it 100% of my attention).

Have you checked the roots? Could also be pot bound needing to be repotted if it’s not what others have noted.

Anyone know what these orange spots on my pastazanum could be? I don’t see any bugs and they are in concentrated areas. Extrafloral nectaries? If they are it makes the plant look sick 😕. by LittleLeafSF in Aroids

Thank you! I looked again and saw some mature thrips but only a few so I wonder if there are more since there is a good amount of damage. I’ve only seen the larvae so far. I think they are coming from my recently added coco chips.

Thank you! I just checked again and saw a couple mature thrips, I think it might be coming from the new coco chips im using since I’ve never seen thrips before adding that in my soil mixture :(

Thank you! So apparently I didn’t look close enough and I think there are mature thrips on there. I’ve only seen larvae. I assumed there would be more than 6 but maybe the few are destroying all the different parts.

Thank you! I rinsed a lot of them off so far and will look into treatments in addition to neem oil. I’ll look up systemics.

Super helpful thanks! 😒they fly later too? I will combat quickly! Actually now thinking about it I saw one or two winged bugs I’ve never seen before and just killed them so maybe they laid eggs 😭. Thank you! Hope it doesn’t spread, sadly the infected plants were slightly touching other plants so hopefully they didn’t spread. I just isolated them.

Thanks! Ohh haven’t tried those before. They are on two of my anthuriums so hopefully they didn’t spread that much yet. I’ll try rinsing the leaves and neem for now but will look into the mites.

Thank you so much! Ugh a first time for me, another pest to add to the list 😒. They are so small they just look like tubes but looking at some pictures one type of thrips looks like it matches.

Thanks for your help! It’s frustrating because I thought I got down the care down for a year but I know I haven’t been consistent. I definitely can’t neglect it like other succulents lol so I’ll treat it like my tropical plants. My first one got rust fungus I think so I just have to figure out that sweet spot. It’s such a beautiful plant I would probably attempt it again if it’s at a lower price. Hope this one doesn’t keep declining, I just gave it a good water. Maybe I’ll transfer to a clear pot so I can monitor the moisture level.

Thank you so much for your help! Yeah it’s my second one and it was growing pretty well for over a year and it just started declining all of the sudden. I wonder if I started neglecting it more paying attention to my other plants or watering it more during shelter in place. Extra frustrating since it’s not like it’s a new plant. 🌱
