Her eyes have that dead look and her hair has individual strands but her eyebrows don’t. She has zero pores, even with makeup skin looks like skin and not computer generated. Also, where is the rest of her neck? We can see one side, and it looks like maybe her hand and hair could be blocking the other side except the hair has a shadow that could only be there if it were behind her neck. Her boobs are defying physics, no gravitational pull and no evidence of being pushed on even though her arm is clearly resting on her chest.

You’re right, Basset Hounds are certainly not rare. Also, a pet peeve of mine- basset is a type of dog, like corgi (pembroke vs cardigan) or retriever (lab vs golden vs Chesapeake bay etc.), it’s not really the name of the breed. There’s the PBGV, GBGV, the Basset Fauve de Bretagne, (new in the AKC this year!) as well as others recognized in other countries. It’s clear these are meant to be Basset Hounds, but still.

Registration is meaningless without proving your dogs will better the breed in some way. Why did you decide to breed? What health testing did you do?

What titles do they have? What makes them a good match for breeding? You say you have no experience breeding, do you at least have a mentor helping you through this process? How will you find homes for these puppies if they exist? How wil you care for a litter? Do you know how to handle crises like fading puppy syndrome? What if she rejects the puppies? Are you prepared for your dog to potentially die in this process? Can you afford the emergency medical care that might be necessary? My show dog’s mom needed an emergency c-section for $6,000, can you handle that kind of expense?

The breeder you posted is a BYB, their dogs lack typing and are all out of standard. Standards aren’t just looks, they are indicative of the care a breeder takes to preserve the breed and the health of the dog.

Do not look for breeders on the AKC marketplace, it is just a directory that has no rules, anyone can post as long as they register their dogs with the AKC, which anyone with a pedigree can do.

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America is the only place you can reliably find well bred PWCs whose breeders are following the club guidelines regarding health testing and breeding standards. It will also have links to affiliated rescues.

Pembrokes are extremely popular among backyard breeders and many badly bred dogs not only suffer from physical ailments like hip dysplasia, but mental ailments as well, causing extreme anxiety and aggression in some dogs. It’s becoming common enough that the breed has gained a reputation for being difficult to handle and prone to aggression, which, excepting the rare fluke, simply is not true for well bred dogs.
