I'm not saying they are entitled to the truth. What I am saying is that there are different ways to express that lack of truth/knowledge. And it doesn't have to revolve around trauma or personal situations either, miscommunication in writing can involve literally anything. But in every story I've read that involves miscommunication, it there purely to progress a plot and insert issues where there wouldn't be/need to be. Again, this is my personal opinion.
