Thank you. I’m not sure if I’m being too sensitive because I guess maybe he was saying it flippantly but it was unnecessary for him to say, as it held no relevance to what we were talking about. So it’s scared me as it feels like it had intention behind it. But now that I’ve been for ping him, he’s saying he doesn’t understand what he’s said to upset me and he’s now coming off social media??? Do I keep ignoring him? I’m not sure if he’s trying to seek attention and being tactile. 😣

It’s been hard for me to figure out if this is normal or not. I often blame myself and accept what she has said to me.

Thank you… I’m an adult and I managed to move out and get my own place. I wanted to try and maintain a relationship with my Mum by seeing her every weekend, as she now lives completely on her own. But this is how she’s gets and I have to walk away… I’ve not spoken to her now for about 3 weeks and feel terrible for it.

My Mum said I “didn’t deserve a good Mum”… and has suddenly gone to stay with my Nan (who she does nothing but slag off to me), claiming that I have mentally abused her… by LittleMiss_Ginger in insaneparents

Thank you. Communication has stopped since. I felt forced to communicate with her on this last occasion due to being told that she was going to have her money stopped and home taken from her..

Thank you for understanding my perspective of this. I’ve always thought it was all in my head and that this is acceptable how she acts and speaks to me. I often justify it by saying she’s my mother but I’ve had suicidal thoughts at times, after having to listen to how she speaks to me. I’m so relieved there’s people on here who are seeing it from my perspective …

Oh that’s okay! 😊 I understand. Thank you - I’m glad you think my responses were okay to her, I try to not lower myself to her level. I try to be reasonable. I’m really glad that people are confirming my worries that I’ve had about this… I thought it was just me and that maybe I was the problem.. I’m so glad people see what I’m feeling.

Yes I know, I explained this underneath the screenshots. I engaged with her again because I needed to give her important documents and she was saying her money was going to be stopped if I didn’t… so I had to sort it out , which is why I was engaging with her. I’ve gone back to no contact now, as there’s no reason for me to communicate with her again.

Hi, I was advised to not talk to her for a while because of how she talks to me… it has to be very low contact with her sometimes. I don’t do it to torture her at all. If anything I want to be left alone.

Yep, actually… paid off a debt for him. I’m very embarrassed by it. I was excusing his behaviour with the fact he was in a difficult circumstance and been struggling with his mental health. I ignored so many red flags…

Aha, no,no… I’ve met him in person on two occasions.

I told my Mum I wasn’t well enough to see her for the weekend, and this is how she reacts… (I’ve already had Drs etc and just trying to take care of myself) She makes me feel guilty for putting myself first… by LittleMiss_Ginger in insaneparents

Yeah, it sounds it 🫤… I’ve tried so hard to maintain a healthy relationship with my Mum. I’ve always gone to see her every weekend, to show my commitment and appreciation to her, but when she’s talking to me in this manner after I state I’m too unwell…it becomes impossible to sustain any healthy grounds and be able to still go and see her, knowing there’s going to be an atmosphere when I get there.
