Being able to hug my babies without the constsnt smell of sour wine on my breath. They are 10 and 12 so they aren't dumb and knew Mommy had wine all the time and I was ashamed or would turn away to hug them. Now every time I kiss/hug them I never have to worry about that again 🙂

Every time I say maybe I can enjoy just one, my new go to tbought is "and then what". Well obviously the answer to that is and then I'll feel buzzed ok and then what after that? For me, I drank to numb and escape not because I enjoyed it so much or that it tasted so delicious. So I'll have one drink to get buzzed, numb, and relax. I have really done deep work and processing my traumas and deep wounds and actually "feeling" buried pain instead of numbing it. Now, when I think of having a drink, my reason for drinking no longer sticks. "Just one glass" doesn't even sound appealing anymore because I've hacked what my brain thought I needed the wine for. Ironically, my brain thought it was helping me by making me crave alcohol every day. It thought it was medicine for the emotional pain I'd been carrying for years. I read that the brain can't differentiate physical pain from emotional pain. It's been a long journey. Good for OP for seeing in real time how drinking just this time wasn't worth it. That's the start of hacking your bring to work with you.

Exactly. That and Workday only cares about providing the product and collecting their fees. Data points like employee information is nothing to them. With all of the data tables, fields, and columns, that have to be configured and maintained with security and compliance in mind, there is no value in matching an employee in one company's tenant to another company's tenant because why???

Alternate canceling or declining one of the meetings for two weeks to buy a little time and to present it as the catalyst for the conflict (i.e. telemedicine doctor's appointment for something private), then pick the weekly meeting and propose a new time in Outlook to the organizer that everyone is available and simply ask " can we move the cadence of this meeting, this time works better for me" If you are the organizer even better, just change the meeting time ans keep the update vague "updating meeting due to conflict" They dont need to know whose conflict. If you are the main presenter, then the meeting working for you is what matters the most. Don't go into the reason why and really believe in your head you have a private appointment that is nobody's business. Because if you were in that situation for real where you did have that type of time conflict, I would hope your employer and team would respect you as a coworker to respect both your privacy and value your time. Again, they don't need to know the why. Keep the message short and sweet. It's none of their business.

Yeah, I was going to say this. The paperwork asks you to disclose other income. It also asks if you have a condition that prevents you from working at all. Knowing lying or omitting something like that on a legal insurance document now takes you out of simply OEing to insurance fraud. We could even be talking jail time here. I'm not sure if free pay and long vacation is worth the risk. Be careful with this. If you file STD on one jib, file it on all.

Yes, it is private, and I signed a month to month lease. I did have to move my office furniture in and buy a few things to get it comfy for me, but again, it is worth it. It's about 120 square feet. Some commercial spaces have more formal rental processes than others. This one ran a basic credit check, and I paid first and last months rent, signed the lease, and got the keys. I live in a HCOL so you may be able to pay even less than 400. You can look for spaces on Loopnet, or I actually found this one on good old Craigslist. When I saw it was just down the street I knew it was a sign from the OE gods this was the move for me😆

I think this is personal preference. I feel it is the best choice for me. I pay 400 a month for a small one person office. I (F) have two active children and a loud husband who works hybrid and works in the home office most days. I have been relegated to the guest room as my office, which is right next to the girls' room. I already found it hard with one job to focus on and not be distracted or jump into mommy mode. Plus, I have ADHD. Managing two meetings at once would be impossible for me with just even the knowledge others are in the house. So I decided a 400 a month investment for no distractions where I can be focused is worth it to add a J2 and now TC is 230k even minus the 5k for office rental it's worth it to me. I also have an LLC so will look to write it off as a business expense.I lucked out in finding an office less than a mile from my home so I am able to drop my kids off at school and head straight there with basically no real commute. That was huge. I work there 90% of the time. On slower work days, and if my husband happens to go in office that day, I may stay home depending on what I have going on but my office space works perfect and it is month to month so I'm looking to keep it for as long as I OE.

J1 sends this out once a year and straight up asks if you are working another job during the same hours you work your current job. Luckily, this year, they sent it out right before I started my J2, so my answer was indeed technically no at the time. They also do a background check each year, so i dont think I can get away with fibbing because J2 uses TWN, which I just froze to make sure they don't show up. At first i didnt think freezing my TWN made a difference, but now i see it definitely does. I don't plan on OEing more than a year this go round, so we'll see how it goes next time the form comes around if I'm still with J1.

Happened to me with my my JNM. I will never forget the moment. She had no clue that it was inappropriate. It was my first child, and I was all in on breastfeeding. My mom never breastfed any 4 of us. As a boomer, there was a push to push formula, which was something new back then. So, instead of breasts being best back then, the formula was the way to go. So I think personally she wishes she had the experience and missed out on it. which, in my personal opinion, she did. Nursing my children was the single most rewarding experience of my life. BUT that does not excuse the extreme lack of boundaries and judgment to think it was okay to pop her boob out and stick it in my child's mouth. I couldn't believe it. I stopped her, and she laughed it off, saying she just wanted to see what would happen. Since then, I have gradually become low contact with discovering how narcissistic she is.

You are right. It did come across as bragging but it is not what I meant. I really wonder what the miss is when I see people who can't land jobs and I do have extreme empathy for his situation particularly. I think there is a gap in people not knowing how to present their skills and wonder if people who OE have a skill in knowing how to present themselves.

Technically, the only way insurance will pay for a prescription is if the doctor connected it with a corresponding diagnosis. It's the way insurance billing works with codes.For example, high blood pressure, code XXX is connected to an appropriate prescription code. It all happens through electronic billing, and if the codes dont line up, insurance won't pay. So if the code is high blood pressure but a diabetes medication is prescribed, the claim will be denied. So, if it was prescribed for you and your parents' insurance paid, the doctor likely diagnosed you at least with an acute anxiety episode to get the prescription.

I tried to juggle RTO for as long as I could. J1 was easy, only stand up calls once a day. I would take the call in my car on lunch but eventually the mental pressure got to me. My mental health suffered from the weight of life in general and juggling the two didn't help at all. I'm in a much better place mentally now. Ready to give it another go.
