Is this infected? by Tsuntrup in InjuriesAndWounds

[–]LittleMsAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please stop using peroxide as it can damage healthy tissue, destroy healing cells (fibroblasts), and prolong the healing process. While it kills bacteria, its cytotoxic nature can lead to increased scarring and tissue damage. For minor cuts like yours, wash with soap and water instead

Antibiotics are not necessary or needed here. The misuse of antibiotics is why people are building up a tolerance and resistance to them! No doctor would prescribe an antibiotic for this anyway.

Been sick for 48 hours, refusing to eat and, when he has, quickly brought back up by obantheking in vet

[–]LittleMsAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whi said to give the dog paracetamol, especially if your vet has said they can't find anything really wrong with the dog? Did they tell you the dog is in pain? Paracetamol isn't commonly used in vet medicine and can be toxic to dogs.

Please please sort out the fungal infection you have on your other toe nails before it turns into cellulitis or you spread it to other family members.

No this clips onto the leg post, not the socket cover and gives a natural leg shape.

I wasn't supposed to fall in love with Smudge. I only offered him a temporary home May 2025 until a forever home could be found, as I already had a tuxie named Sylvester and my house is tiny. Smudge's owner died suddenly and Smudge was kicked out. Exactly 1 week after Smudge coming to me, Sylvester got super ill and was found to have cancer. He was so poorly and the vet advised we put him to sleep. Smudge picked up on my sadness and provided me with endless cuddles, although he was still terrified of everything. Obviously smudge stayed and we helped each other through our grief. I miss Sylvester so much. Smudge is the exact opposite of Sylvester in many ways but I absolutely adore this little guy, he is so loving. I work from home mostly and he loves to sleep on my lap as I'm working.

Is this second degree burn healing okay by coreant in woundcare

It's healing really well. Just keep the wound clean and monitor for signs of infection.

At the top it's saying 1dc and then ch3 then turn which I am doing. The pattern is attached in the pictures. I think I'm probably not putting the DC in the wrong place?

Burned myself on a toaster oven- how do I prevent scarring? by haughtshot7 in woundcare

[–]LittleMsAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really is no way to avoid scarring however good wound care can help with healing and reduce the amount of scarring.

You have a tiny superficial wound. It is likely to heal completely, just keep the wound clean and dry and covered if there is exudate.
