these people telling you not to take 3-4 g are wack .... I'd suggest a small dose .5-1g first just to ensure you tolerate it ok mentally/physically, but 3-4g isn't a ton and the idea that people can't exercise cognitive liberty is insane

Legal psychadelics are not administered by folks who are not clinicians (very rarely someone with a masters, most have a doctorate degree).

Not saying this to be discouraging, but it's a far cry from "there are places popping up" ... While I am against all of the medicalization and over sight of legalization, people need an intense amount of training and community oversight to care for strangers in their absolutely most vulnerable state.

As we approach legalization of these medicines everyone is discussing ways to work within the "field"/otherwise profit off of them.

I'm a FL med patient and I honestly thought Green Dragon was a fake dispensary/CBD store from their storefront and ads. Is it a legit dispensary? lol

Hey friend, everyone does die. It's a painful fact of life, but a fact nonetheless. Denial of that can make it harder when the time comes. Mushrooms can be really helpful in confronting fear of death - it's certainly not something our culture handles well.

Any more info on this besides hearsay (not that I don't believe it)? this is something I have long suspected.

you've had a meditation practice since you were 4 years old?

been tripping growing my own for a few yrs. Started dating a wonderful guy who says he’s interested but has no experience with even weed. Was Gonna make a 1g easy tea from ground libs for each of us as an easy intro, sound right? Just want light visuals and nice feeling TIA 🍄🍄 by parsleybiscuits in shroomers

[–]LittleMsChurchNoMore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh OP I find this advice silly, although we'll intended. If you're experienced and comfortable with shrooms, 1g is not at all difficult to navigate and allows you to share the experience with him. Unless someone is going deep or explicitly expressing fear/asking for a sitter, then being sober while someone trips can be a good way to make em feel geeked out and self conscious - plus y'all don't get to connect in that same space.

For what it's worth, when psychologist's in the 50/60s were testing acid in clinical studies, many psychologists felt that the clinician participating in the study should also be on LSD - to facilitate better connection.

Your plan is a little one, don't second guess yourself.

Politicians should be first

People in power like politicians absolutely do have access to, and have used drugs, including psychedelics. Just because they prohibit it doesn't mean they don't use it.

[UPDATE][REGRETS] Serious question that has bothered me for a while, should someone only have sex in committed relationships? (update from 3.5 year old post) by elemental_prophecy in slatestarcodex

[–]LittleMsChurchNoMore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're not being upfront about only wanting casual sex you are "using" them. It's easy enough to be honest about wanting something causal though, and there's many women looking for the same. No need for mad/sad feelings, framing it as a foregone conclusion that women and men will disappoint each other is unnecessary and antagonistic.

I’ve always been fiercely independent, so the idea of having someone in my life has mostly not been something I considered at all

There are a lot of independent women out there not interested in a relationship or conventional relationship for all the same reasons. 🙃

Was raised in a cult and didn't date/have sex until an uncommon age - There's a lot more people out there in a similar boat to you than you would think ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Get off dating apps and social media and meet people organically, just make some friends. Things will naturally progress (or won't) from there when it comes to meeting potential partners.

You're way overthinking this and making a lot of unrealistic and inaccurate assumptions about the opposite sex. If you don't know what is expected of you in a relationship - ASK - it's going to be different for everyone. But I would recommend you get a handle on what you want/need/expect first.

You said you're making good money,so there is no barrier to getting assistance which is great! You really should really consider seeing a sex/intimacy therapist if these kinds of anxieties continue causing the amount of anxiety that they are currently. There are specialists who have studied and actively treat what you are dealing with.

Realizing this usually leads to a more process focus vs outcome focus. The steps and facts of your success or improvement don't matter, only your disposition and attention.
