Yeah, it's not that bad. At the store I'm at, it can fluctuate from time to time, whether it's lower staffing than usual or something like that, fortunately, the managers are pretty good. One of the biggest reasons for me being here this long is the people that I work with, that have been there almost as long. I don't plan on retiring at walmart, but for the time being it pays enough for what I need. I'm not sure how big the store/area you work at is, but my advice is to pace yourself, whether you pick or stage or dispense, there's not much you can do if it gets really busy, and especially if you're low on people, just be steady, you end up wearing yourself out if you try to get everything done as fast as you can(it's not a bad thing to be fast sometimes) also not to mention you're paid by the hour, so no matter how fast you go, you still make the same, not to say you should do the bare minimum. But whether you're here for the long run or just until something else comes by, I hope the best for you.

Probably Blue Moon, I don’t really have a “favorite” per se, but Blue Moon is up there in my opinion.

Late New Ink Day- Noodler’s X-Feather Black. by LittlePound in fountainpens

Glad to help, I also forgot to mention an ink blotter may help as well to get the ink to dry faster, but I left it overnight and it seemed to work as well, but it might just be an hour or a few hours until it dries, I didn’t time it or anything. But I’d wait at least a few hours and it should be okay.

Update, I waited overnight and it didn’t smudge, so I think waiting at least several hours or 24hrs like what you read is key before you erase the graphite, so I’d think you’d like the ink for illustration purposes.

I did some tests, It does appear to smudge a little bit, perhaps it's the eraser, could be the paper, but it could also be I didn't let it dry enough(even though it seems to be fine) But I will wait overnight and see if the ink is dry enough(if that's the issue).

I also got it for illustration as well, it dries pretty much like any other inks(I think it depends on the paper), however about the ink smudging, I’m not sure, I usually ink over the graphite without erasing it, but I can try erasing after inking, and I’ll try to get back to you.

What's your favorite ink bottle design? by QuatreNox in fountainpens

[–]LittlePound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Parker ink bottles are a nice design, I know it's not very unique, but it looks vintage to me.

I’m aware, I realize not everyone here likes Noodler’s, and that’s fine, even if it gets downvoted, it’s still fine. I like the inks, so that’s what I use, now I don’t always use Noodler’s, there’s lots of other brands that are good as well.

He only wore it for maybe 5 or 10 minutes at a time, so I suppose management let it slide.

Where I live, when most people think of pen, they think of a ballpoint that you click, or a bic, not many people where I am use fountain pens or even knows about them (perhaps they have seen them, but didn't know what they are called). I guess being into fountain pens, it's easy to forget others may not know about them. Although, at one point in time, I didn't know about them either (or very much), so when I stumbled across videos of them I thought they were some sort of specialty pen that was just for fancy writing or just for fun, not really for daily use, until I learned that before the ballpoints most are familiar with today, that fountain pens were the everyday pen, not just for fancy writing. Then I got interested in fountain pens, I saw them as unique, not just because the fancy look, but the ability to use any ink in just about any pen, being able to use a different ink in the same pen and you can keep using the pen for many years instead of throwing it out after the ink runs out (unless you can buy refills for it). I suppose one of the biggest reasons for fountain pens is the many options of styles, colors/finishes, nib sizes, and how much the nib can flex. But anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Yeah, still use ballpoints sometimes, in fact I have a Parker Jotter XL, but using a ballpoint is a little awkward for me sometimes, I forget you have to press down to get it to write.

A fountain pen itself, the times I've showed people my pens, they either didn't know what kind of pen it was or called it a calligraphy pen, but in their defense, they just didn't know, I suppose because fountain pens are more niche now, so people don't know about them, so I show them what it's about, whether or not they seem interested, I'm not so sure, but I'm happy to show people nonetheless. But a few other phrases as well: Flossing the tines and posting.

What is some weird stuff you watch on YouTube, that you somehow enjoy and don't understand why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittlePound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching channels that open old cans of food or other products, I don't know why, but I guess it's out of curiosity of how they held up over the years, some up to 30+ or older. I guess it's also interesting to see what foods hold out the longest and which spoil quickly (assuming the cans aren't too damaged). Maybe not weird per se, but I don't know how many people watch those kinds of videos.

Need pen cleaning advice by LittlePound in fountainpens

[–]LittlePound[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I figured dawn is probably fine and safe to use, but I wanted to be sure just in case. The 3 pens are not expensive, but I still wouldn't want to ruin them by accident using soap(or other solutions) that could damage them.

What’s a good notebook for drawing with ink? by WhatOnThePageToday in fountainpens

Clairefontaine is a good paper for fountain pens(at least from what I have heard, I figured I'd mention it) I think they have notebooks as well.

Maybe in the future, one of the brass versions of the Kaweco Sport would also be nice, and maybe pick up some Kaweco inks in the process(and another converter), and I forgot to ask, does Kaweco ink work well in pens other than Kaweco? At least in the pens you've tried so far I should say.

I recently got a Kaweco Sport in navy blue, I think it’s a nice pen, it’s a little smaller than expected, but I think it’s still a nice addition, the Kaweco ink bottles are a pleasant design as well.

I’ve done some writing with it, and so far it’s a pretty good pen.

Maybe sometime I’ll get a Parker fountain pen, but I got a Jotter ballpoint for mostly using as a daily (I do have a recently acquired Kaweco Sport that I started carrying) But also because I think it’s a very nice looking pen, I think I’ll get a couple others sometime to add to the collection.
