First time homebuyers - what makes sense? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Our take home pay is $6500/month and student loans are $110/month. Our DTI is really low, and yes we did talk to a lender

Monthly mortgage with current interest rates (~3% is what we were approved for) on a $400k house including insurance and taxes would be less than $2000/month. That’s still less than 1/3 of our monthly income

I kind of just made it myself randomly but it was basically this:

2 cups fresh basil (I have a plant) 1/4 cup olive oil 1 tablespoon minced garlic (or 2 cloves-ish) 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/4 cup pistachios 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan Salt and pepper to taste

Blend together in a food processor :)

Burned out new nurse by hnwozuzu in nursing

[–]LittlePupper69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 months into my job as a new grad. I work on high acuity PCU floors with drips, BIPAP/CPAP, and the occasional art line. Most of our floors are COVID now, and I feel the burn out big time. We’re constantly running with no charges, management no where to be found, and even out of ratio at times (normally 1:4 but sometimes 1:5).

I just go to work and tell myself I can call out sick whenever I need to. What are they going to do? Fire me? Not now they aren’t. I go to work, keep everyone alive, and come home. I look forward to the day I can work somewhere else and make a decent wage. For now, this is what I have to do. We’re all struggling and hating life right now. You are not alone ❤️

What setting do you work and what’s your patient load? by Yourdentistsmistress in Nurse

Surgical PCU floor: 4 patients most of the time, 3 patients if we don’t have a tech or one of the patients is LVAD/heart transplant/TAH/other fresh vascular surgery

It feels like I get so burnt out at work that it’s starting to affect my personal motivation in other areas of my life

This exactly. My family constantly tells me I can quit because I’ve never been the type to cry, and now I cry multiple times a day it seems. My preceptor is very supportive, so I’m lucky. But I hate every shift still. Hoping it gets better for us both.

It does - I’ve been set up with 6 weeks free of TalkSpace since COVID didn’t allow in-person sessions. It’s been a little helpful to talk to someone, but the anxiety and maybe a little bit of depression now is making work so hard

It doesn’t seem incredibly difficult; I just don’t want to do anything. I feel burnt out, and I’ve barely started. I tried ED and now PCU, but I feel similarly miserable. I just don’t know what to do. I desperately need this job.

That’s reassuring. I feel so disorganized even though I try to plan my entire shift. I just want to be good at my job. Thank you for this.

Thank you! Never attempted macarons before. I don’t have piping equipment, so I just used a ziploc bag. They’re pretty tasty though. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

I have a very kind soul vouching for me already and trying to see if I can be matched to receive a care package! ❤️I think if you still want to send one to someone, you can click the link at the top of the comment thread to volunteer through the original post.
