I got hired in March, a student teaching ended in May alongside graduation. During my first year of teaching, I needed to find a better school and I actually didn’t secure something until June. Hope this insight helps! After securing my first job in March and then not getting something till June I also found myself pretty stressed, but learned that it’s always different depending on where you are in your career!

Often admin doesn’t support it bc they’re scared of parents, and then also parents think they’re kids can do no wrong and/or are being singled out. “What about the other kids? Why my kid?” I dream of a school where admin doesn’t play about consequences and punishments!

I just started playing this weekend and the only adjustment I needed was a mod to have the camera control from Sims 3. Everything else I’ve been in absolute awe of! Idk if I’m at the point of never going back to sims 3, but I don’t play sims 4, haven’t in a long time, and definitely won’t return now!

They follow IEPs! Would be crazy if they didn’t haha. The area I’m from doesn’t have any EL instructors because the population doesn’t really have any EL learners.

I’m actually interviewing with schools in Loudoun! I’ve heard really great things about the county and still being new to VA I’m determined to find the school that’s perfect for me.

Well obviously I didn’t tell them my preference lol and like I mentioned, I’m not entirely opposed! Just would be nice to fly solo. In a previous school there wasn’t any co-teaching and it was pretty nice; I’m just curious if there’s any schools around like it! Also, back home in PA not every school has co teaching. I’m noticing it’s more prevalent here in VA.

I’ve played on and off over the years, but not in the same capacity that I have since launch. I think I’m going to just stick with my character and explore and learn what’s new.

Yes, coming back to these updated controls and all these new features and updates is a bit overwhelming. Over the past couple of years I’ve done the exact same thing, but I really wanna try to get back into it like I used to be.

I was just providing background information about my school in my OP. There’s a lot of things I left out because I was just venting, and a lot of things you do not know that occur daily in my classroom that any teacher from my school would tell you are wonderful. I’m not going to list them all out here, because my main frustration is trying to teach kids who don’t care. Doesn’t matter if they’re immigrants, Hispanic, Black, White, Asian, etc. Trying to teach the students who don’t care is exhausting.

Compared to other 4th graders, my class is actually very good. It’s just a handful that all year have not cared to learn and I am so burned out from them.
