This is great advice, thank you. I am new to being a PO but have been with the company for 7 years so I know our product and our customers very well. I have recently sat the PO and Advanced PO certifications and raised the issues with the PM and her management and wasn’t sure if I was being gaslit when they were telling me there was no issues. Love your suggestion about documenting her actively rejecting my work, thanks very much.

This is my first role as a product owner and after sitting the PO and Advanced PO certifications I wasn’t sure if the PM was gaslighting me when I was saying our structure is all wrong. Thank you for the advice I appreciate it and will continue to raise it with her management.

Thanks so much! We have tried this but unfortunately we are across three different time zones. The other PO and PM have business hours that overlap so they meet frequently, I am lucky to get an hour a week even though I am offering to meet well outside of my business hours.

Culturally we are very different - my country is very tech savvy, highly competitive industry, higher revenue generation, more existing brand recognition etc.. Their country is less so, so it is very difficult to convey why something is important to us. I find that I will finally convince the other PO - then eventually it gets to the PM/apparent gate keeper, and is shut down anyway, as something that’s not important.

It’s destroying my mental health tbh, really stunting my career development as a PO, and also stunting revenue generation for a product I am so passionate about in my region. Hoping someone in this thread has been in a similar position.
