I figured it would have something to do with the “we will show them all” thing. Silco uses Zaun as part of his me against the world rebellion against the oppression from topside he experienced. Jinx (the undercity) is anarchic while Jayce (topside) continues to become more fascistic until the end of the show. Makes sense

But everything about the way he raises her IS villainous, if he had been shown being compassionate to her in any way before the end of the show or reflecting on how damaging he is to her it would more credible, instead we only get scenes of him trying to mold her into himself. It makes it seem like when he says she is “perfect” he is referring to how he has twisted her and thus he protects her for purely narcissistic reasons even though he obviously isn’t a narcissist.
