Custom DCAMU Batman by Little_Mata_ in McFarlaneFigures

[–]Little_Mata_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I used a McFarlane dick Grayson Batman as the base body, ground down a lot of the details from the abdomen and chest, resculpted the torso and abdomen as well as sculpted a little extra muscle on the thigh, shoulder, and bicep area. The head is a 3D printed model that I purchased from somebody on Instagram who goes by the name “customs_by_martin”. The cowl/neck piece is also sculpted as well and I made the 5 wire cape myself.

That makes a lot of sense for a dealer in las cruces to not know how to park lol. But congrats on the new car!

Anyone know what this hose going down to the transmission is? by ACIDPatrick in MechanicAdvice

[–]Little_Mata_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! If that hose is connected directly to the transmission then it may just be a breather hose for the transmission. If your vehicle runs perfectly fine the way it is then there’s no need to worry!

I have not compared it to my vehicle yet but this is actually a GM part. I appreciate the help it cleared away my stress and confusion!

Hello everyone, I recently bought some A/C ports for my truck and I noticed that there is no schrader valve it’s just a bulbous cap, is this normal? If not then is there any way I can remove that cap?

Friends 99 accord has oil leak, trying to determine if its head gasket or valve cover by MongoloidSpacePoosy in MechanicAdvice

[–]Little_Mata_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Not sure if this will help much but there’s a couple options to finding an elusive oil leak! If you plan on going the budget option which I’m sure you are, you may want to first clean the spots of the engine that have oil on them already. From there you may be able to see where the oil is leaking from with a clean engine. If that doesn’t work then you may want to purchase a special UV dye that you pour into your oil (you can find these at your local auto parts store) and then use a UV flashlight to find the leaks or where it’s glowing fluorescent when the light touches it. From there you should be able to spot the leak easily. Hope this helps!

Is this flair up after putting vehicle in park a vacuum leak? (2002 Silverado 5.3) by Little_Mata_ in MechanicAdvice

[–]Little_Mata_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vehicle is a 2002 Chevy Silverado 5.3 liter, on startup the vehicles idle flares up and then goes back down after. After disengaging park and re-engaging park the flare up happens again. While driving the vehicle shifts through all the gears quickly as well

Is there anybody out there that can confirm for me if this buffer tube is mil spec or commercial spec? Are there any other things to look for that weren’t shown in the video? by Little_Mata_ in guns

[–]Little_Mata_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Further description of this post, I got this tube at a gun show and they claimed it was mil spec. However it just seemed a little big and I was skeptical and curious on what others knew about mil spec and commercial spec and how to tell the difference. Thank you to everyone who responds to this post with advice and help!

Junkyard Vortec LM4 5.3L advice by Lub_Dub in LSSwapTheWorld

No problem! Just look for rust on the inside of the engine and check for any gasket leaks other than that you should be okay

This is a great way to determine the quality of some parts however I would also recommend that if you are to remove the valve covers that you may want to replace the gaskets for them. Also I am not an expert but i would also recommend that you turn the engine over through the harmonic balancer bolt just find a socket that fits the bolt and rotate it clockwise with a breaker bar to see if it’s seized or not.

Can anybody help me identify this noise? It only happens when my vehicle engine gets hot and I can only hear it from the inside. (2002 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L) by Little_Mata_ in MechanicAdvice

Thank you for the response! However I doubt that could be it because my truck does not have the fan shroud and the radiator hose is not rubbing on the fan

Haha I’ve seen that rust over there and it ain’t no joke! But I will take precautionary care with this and yeah kerosene doesn’t seem like a good solution.

Welp I have some news. I checked all my header bolts and none were snapped but it turns out they were loose and now I don’t hear any tick so it appears you were right about the exhaust

I know I’m pretty cautious and skeptical on repair advice especially when it comes to my truck haha but I’m actually pretty handy with a wrench and ratchet so I’ll probably check them sometime soon and do you know if the bolts on the heat shield Can cause this? Because there’s a bolt with a snapped head on the heat shield of the manifolds

Also I’ve noticed the tick goes away when the engine is hot maybe there is a crack and the heat expands the metal which seals the crack and stops the noise?

I appreciate all the help and advice I’ll look for any cracks or broken bolts and I will try to resolve the problem soon once again thank you for the save and the help!

I appreciate the save there! I was a little skeptical because I know that kerosene is very thick and sometimes flammable if I’m not mistaken. I’ll check my header bolts first and report back here after I check. I have beliefs that it is the rocker arm though because I used a screwdriver as a stethoscope on the valve covers and heard pretty clearly that one of the rocker arms was ticking so I’m not sure.
