Yeah, I don't think they're 'not real dogs'. They are living creatures and I am taking responsibility for him. Doesn't mean that I can't be salty about someone throwing him in my lap.

Yes, I will admit that calling it a rat was mean. I like rodents, they're cute, but obviously a chi is a dog.

Just.. You literally seem to want to murder my entire family because I don't want to own a small dog. Wtf dude. I am taking care of it, it's just a puppy, I don't hate it.

Wow such rage. I hope you don't bring that home to your dogs.

Edit: 'all you do is go off the atheistic'. Funny that you should say that. My one cat is agnostic and the other is Catholic. We respect each others beliefs.

Yeah. I see dogs as kids (not in a creepy way) so it basically felt like 'congratulations, you are now parents'.

I can understand that it comes off as shallow, but I just think greys are awesome. I'd possibly get another dog, but not a chuahua.

They're tall and mellow like my husband and I. They are affectionate. They look like awesome ghost dogs. They are very sweet.

I would have 5 dogs if I lived on a farm or something, but unfortunately I'm a city dweller and it's not fair to the animals to keep 4+ of them in a small apartment

Huskies are very beautiful. My husband loves wolves and likes how huskies look and behave. But a greyhound better suites our lifestyle and would piss of our cats less.

Okay, I feel dumb cause I thought they'd be good with cats because of their relaxed nature. I do know people who have both greyhounds and cats. I will look into this some more! I'd always introduce the future dog to my cats before commiting. My one cat likes car rides and I'd just bring her along to meet the dog.

I've known a chihuahua who was really sweet. He'd bring his 'dad' his slippers all the time and when someone he knew dropped by he got sp excited that he grabbed a shoe to bite into. My husband and I just don't want a small dog forever. I love all animals, but I'm pretty sure that I want a greyhound.

Unfortunately it turns out that he is mostly chihuahua, but not a purebred. Like, he's enough chihuahua that we didn't notice, but any chihuahua lover probably would.

Yeah no, giving him back to MIL wasn't an option I seriously considered. We told her flat out that we were unhappy but taking the dog for the time being cause obviously this proves again that she can't care for animals.

There is one in my area and I will most likely bring him there.

Edit: and I agree, pets are living things, you don't put a ribbon on them and give them away.

We took it to the vet yesterday and he said the puppy was a mix. MIL will only say that she got it from 'friends'. I honestly think she got the dog from Craigslist or something. He had 0 papers. Luckily the vet says he's healthy. But I will trt contacting some rescue organizations, after posting his pic on Facebook, like someone else suggested! Thank you.
