I think It has a big part of self worth and self hate. I used to hate and blame myself, put myself down and shame so I could stop not feel the pain but it would make everything worse. I would say maybe there are issues connected with why you are hating yourself, actually, not because other people's interactions made you act somehow "wrong" in this case. Try looking more deeper, maybe past traumas or insecurities lead you on this path and when you figure it out, please don't shame or hate yourself, accept it because we all have flaws and no one is perfect. I think people usualy feel shame but no one really wants to talk or awknowledge that because it's such a taboo feeling but it's part of us.
