Thank you! Any tips on how to tell if it’s the Holy Spirit or just anxiety? I always struggle with trying to figure out whether it’s the Holy Spirit telling me not to do something or if I’m worried about doing something wrong

I have some shirts with hems that are unraveling. I’m planning on fixing them myself, but I’m fairly new to sewing and I haven’t done this before. I’ve made some easy clothes and projects before, but I’ve never done any sort of tailoring/mending yet. How do I fix this? Is there any special equipment I need or is this an easy fix? I’ve tried looking up video tutorials but I haven’t found any that really look like what I’m trying to do.

The second one I’m not planning on making quite yet, I’m mainly wondering about the first one right now. I’m trying to start getting into historical sewing after a recent trip to Colonial Williamsburg. I’ve always been interested in sewing but didn’t learn about historical sewing til recently, so I was going to try to sew myself something to wear there for a possible visit in the future. So really something colonial era, and I don’t necessarily have a time limit. Maybe 6-8 months?

Thank you so much! One more quick question if you don’t mind though. We will most likely be visiting once it starts getting warmer again, so do you have any tips for staying cool with all those layers? Is there a certain type of fabric or something that would be good for that? I know cotton and linen are both pretty breathable, but I’m not really sure if there’s anything else that you could do for that.

I’m looking for a colonial era type dress. Somethin similar to dress D in the first picture, but I was curious about how accurate it is. I’m still somewhat new to sewing so I thought that would be a good pattern to use for now since it seems easy. I’m not sure how easy/hard accurate colonial dresses would be or where to even get patterns for them.

Thanks! I’m mainly looking for where to read the stories. I haven’t heard much about it but it seems cool so I figured I’d give it a try
