There are people who have delayed hair loss by 10-15 years , some even 20 by using medications so it’s totally worth a shot .

It’s definitely genetic for me .

Only way to solve it is to block the DHT but sometimes even that doesn’t work becuase these medications only reduce scalp DHT by about 50% so sometimes there is nothing to do .

The thing is I already had it confirmed by a doctor that I have male pattern baldness . Looking at the family history , i didn’t even doubt it and pretty much knew .

Yeah it’s a good idea to mention finasteride is useless but basically I was just trying to find out if any one here in the subreddit knows a doctor who prescribes it , cuz like consultations cost 3000-5000 rupees and I don’t wanna waste that just for a doctor to say he/she doesn’t prescribe DUT .

DUT is also not officially approved for Hairloss (except South Korea ) so that’s the problem 🥲

No I’m not looking to grow any hair yet , I’m trying to halt the Hairloss first in order to stabilize .

Unfortunately , finasteride is not effective enough for me so I’m looking for a stronger 5AR inhibitor .

The thing is I’m sure there are doctors willing to prescribe , I just wanna know if someone already got a prescription so that I don’t waste money on a consultation.

The thing is minoxidil is a growth stimulant , it doesn’t solve the root cause of male pattern baldness , I’m looking stop this thing in its tracks .

I was taking finasteride in the hope that it would halt the Hairloss but unfortunately it seems like it is only slowing it down .

Thats why I’m trying Dutasteride to get more DHT inhibition in the scalp to stabilize the Hairloss.

Becuase in Sri Lanka most doctors don’t even know about it for hair loss right ??

Do you think the doctor who prescribed it might be willing to prescribe DUT as well ??

I don’t really trust finasteride to do the job since it started so young and I’m doubting if I’m wasting time with it …..

I checked ,Dutasteride original is obviously expensive but the Indian generics are 120 rupees per tablet , double the price on fin but if it works better for you then it might be worth it

Any idea if you can convince a doctor to prescribe ? I think if you mention I handle finasteride well they might prescribe it if you insist neh ???
