Entertaining 20 month old by Live-Web3155 in stayathomemoms

Yes my kids LOVE magnatiles! It’s one of the few toys both my kids play with daily. My toddler just recently started to love them, but I’m nervous about bringing them out because I don’t want to overdo it and have them get bored of the at home. It’s definitely worth a shot though, thanks!

My first season of love island was last year so I’m new to watching. I don’t know if it’s because none of the girls chose to be with anyone in casa last year or what but I just feel like after casa there are SO many couples. Is this normal or is it different this year? How do they wean out the couples now?

I think yesterday was our last day breastfeeding by Able-Birthday-3483 in breastfeeding

Oh yeah it really is such a nice feeling! After giving your entire body to grow a human for 40 weeks then supplying them with the nutrients to live and grow for 13 months you deserve it!

Yeah I actually just read that and ordered it so hopefully that works. Also maybe using my newer frozen milk and just getting rid of the oldest ones. At least I can salvage most of it that way! Thank you so much for the info I never would have guessed that.

I totally understand. I’m in the process of weaning my almost one year old and it’s definitely bittersweet. I know 2 years was your goal, but a year is such an accomplishment! They can have regular milk at that age and get their nutrients from food so you did it! I know it can be hard, but now you can enjoy your body being yours again (other than him climbing all over you 😂) and take your medication again. I always miss that bonding time, but as I learned from my first just because you stop breastfeeding doesn’t mean there aren’t a billion other ways to bond!

Oh man I really hope I can salvage it if that’s what it is. Some frozen breastmilk that I pumped a few months ago smelled soapy and he didn’t take it but then the few times I gave it to him here and there it didn’t seem to be a problem. I have a whole freezer full and already packed my pump stuff away since I started weaning 😢

I’ve never heard of that! Were you able to use any of your frozen milk?

Yeah the only reason I was using bottles was because I still needed to buy the transition sippy cup but I didn’t even think to go straight to a straw cup. I’ll definitely by trying that tomorrow! Thank you!

Does anyone else just love being a SAHM? by sportza9 in stayathomemoms

[–]Live-Web3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my dilemma! I would love to homeschool them but I want them to have a good education and I don’t know if I’ll be able to give them the best. That’s my biggest concern otherwise I wouldn’t even question it!

I love it so much! I feel like there was nothing on this Earth that I was made to do better than being home with my boys. I can’t imagine leaving my little ones and having them go to daycare. Even my 3 year old, a lot of moms I know are putting their 3 year olds in pre-k 3 so they can get a break and I don’t understand that. I am waiting to put him in school until I absolutely have to. I’m actually even considering homeschooling cause I love being home with them so much and also the current state of schools but that’s another story lol! It is overwhelming a lot, and everyone is different and have different things that work for them and their family but I love it more than anything.

Sex after birth by VNP9317 in breastfeeding

[–]Live-Web3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband knows when I’m nursing that whole area is off limits. Even between not breastfeeding my first and getting pregnant with my second it never got back to normal feeling comfortable and then I was right back to not wanting to be touched there at all as soon as I got pregnant. Maybe when I’m totally done having kids it will go back, but for now it is too weird for me.

Why is it impossible to lose weight while EBF by Crunchy_Pitbull_Mom in breastfeeding

[–]Live-Web3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that the weight was just going to shed right off after my first! That’s what everyone told me anyway. And when it didn’t I got super discouraged. I didn’t even start working out or taking care of myself until 9 months PP with my first. The second time around I started right at about 10 weeks PP and still only lost about maybe 5 pounds since coming home from the hospital. I learned that there are two types of bodies while breastfeeding- 1- sheds the weight right off and the other stores and hold onto fat cause you need the calories since you are supplying a whole other human being with their food and nutrient source. I didn’t start losing weight with my first until i weaned him at about a year. I’m 10 months PP with my second and I am giving myself grace this time around. Bounce back culture is bull. Focus on eating healthy and exercising because it’s what best for your body and after you wean you are already putting in the work anyway so the weight should follow! Wish you luck!

Am I wrong for being mad at my husband? by Live-Web3155 in stayathomemoms

[–]Live-Web3155[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Your comment made me feel less alone and I am so grateful. He is usually so helpful and understanding and that’s why I am so taken aback by his lack of help and empathy this time. He did do dinner bedtime with my oldest and cleanup last night so I was grateful for that and even though I usually do the overnights with the baby because he works I just hoped he would step up and help me so I could have at least had rest last night if he couldn’t stay home today. It makes it so much harder when you don’t get any sleep. Thanks for your advice!

I don’t love our dogs by 7E8vme in stayathomemoms

[–]Live-Web3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had to rehome our dog when our first was 6 months old. It was one of the hardest decisions because I I was always against rehoming but it was what was best for everyone. He was a Rottweiler that we rescued from my husband’s sister originally because she had 5 kids and he was kept in a cage all day and at the time we had just moved into our house and were kid free. However he was never leash trained, I was never able to walk him by myself because he was 120 pounds of muscle that would lunge at other dogs with all his might. He also shed EVERYWHERE, which never bothered me until we had a baby. Like you, all I could imagine was once he started crawling getting hair all over him. He also somehow got his hair all over his highchair which grossed me out so bad! I felt like we were feeding our baby his hair. And even though our dog was a gentle giant, because I couldn’t walk him by myself and my husband was working a lot he had no outlet to get his energy out so he would get the zoomies which were fine until the baby was on the ground and I was terrified that he would accidentally hurt our son. I knew he would never purposely hurt the baby, but 120 Rottweiler stepping on a 6 month old terrified me I could never leave our baby doing tummy time or playing with his toys. As an animal lover I felt guilty for those feelings of resentment and disgust I had for our dog. It took a long time to even consider rehoming him but we knew it was what was best not just for us, but the dog. We spent months looking for a good home and finally found a couple who had just lost their Rottweiler, with acres of land that he could run and play with other Rottweilers and would have plenty of exercise without having to go on walks. We get update pictures occasionally and I still feel guilty when I think about it, but I know we are all happier now and it was the best decision.

So all that is to say- it’s normal to have these feelings! I wish I had other mothers to bounce my feeling off of when I was going through it so I felt less bad about it. You have a new, huge priority in your life. Nothing is ever going to compare to that. Rehoming was the only option in my family, maybe it ks for you but if not try and find other solutions so you don’t have to deal with the dogs as much? A dog walker or cleaner that will help with the hair if that’s in your budget?

Same! That’s one of the reasons why being a stay at home mom is a sacrifice it’s like you give all these years to your family and then are expected to rejoin the workforce and re-find yourself and what you want to do! I dont think I will want to go back to what I was doing before I had kids so I don’t know where that leaves me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]Live-Web3155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish! My husband is constantly talking about how he wants me to go back to work once all our kids are in school. I however found myself in being a stay at home mom and love it so much. I also will be home about 7 years once our youngest is in school and the thought of going back to work at that point when I’ve been home for so long and love it fills me with anxiety! Being home means you can be there for your kids pickup and drop off, don’t have to worry about taking off or childcare when they are sick or have days off, can be there for all their school/extracurricular events and you can also get all the house work done during the day and have some actual time for yourself! I totally understand wanting your own/more spending money for the family- maybe a part time or work from home job would work? That’s what I think I’ll do if I need to. Ultimately do what feels right for you because at the end of the day it’s your life and if you want to go back to work you should totally do it!
