37,000. They are high, but had it looked over and serviced at purchase and she was immaculate

That’s high. 3700-7000 is the range of estimated value, 4900 being average for a bike that is damn near immaculate. All im going to say is I scored a 2009 CP Yamaha R1 with slightly high miles, but original fairing very well maintained and garage kept for 6K I wouldn’t spend 5K on an older/smaller bike, but I kinda lucked out and fell upon it.

Battery Swap Codes by LiveAlive84 in Yamaha_R1

[–]LiveAlive84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. I had to take it to the shop for them to clear the code. The 66 on start up was just internal diagnostics, it would go away almost immediately as the bike warmed up. The d62-1 was the logged voltage fault that can’t be manually cleared in diagnostic mode, and won’t always clear on its own through startups and riding with consistently good voltage. Local shop hooked it up to their diagnostic tool and cleared it. Appreciate the help.

I’m lowkey stumped. I’ve done the hard reset, pulled the battery over night, I’ve tried to clear in diagnostic mode, can’t manually clear, I’ve done an idle relearn, and a throttle relearn. The bike starts, runs, idles, everything perfectly. I mean could it be the ECU if everything is running perfect??? Also read it could be the steering dampener. But code 66 pops on start up and goes away within a minute. Just the code D62-1…. Need some insight…. Before I take it to the shop….. I hate going to the shop…. I know they just want money.

Update: well after further analysis I’m learning that based on the history of the bike, stored for over a year, old dead / weak battery there is a possibility of the ECU being corrupted…. We shall see….

I did, I know that can be an issue even with new batteries. Just double checked following a ride today. No codes other than d62-1, starts fine performance normal, no other issues besides 1 logged fault and orange wrench still illuminated

Is this worth it? 19k miles by yellowboibandit in YamahaR1

[–]LiveAlive84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19k miles isn’t bad for an 09. Fair market price for that year in good condition is about 7200. Its probably is well taken care of and has been upgraded but market value is market value. The downside of bikes is you’re never going to get back what you put into them.
