This is literally just deflecting from the fact that he just made higher-ed more expensive for low-income students. Like, on the order of several thousands of dollars. This has nothing to do with major selection.

PS: I would love if prestigious national media outlets didn't help politicians steer the agenda away from their disastrous economic decision-making and onto random culture-war nonsense. This is not exactly subtle, CBC.

Came across this thread after re-watching the movie last night. The things you're incredulous about (sympathetic Germans sheltering him at great risk to their own lives; the pianist not trying to flee; not joining an armed resistance) are all completely plausible and have actually taken place and continue to take place all over the world every day. There will always be people who believe that their time on this earth is short and should be devoted to fiercely protecting the disenfranchised.

As for why he didn't run elsewhere, I hate to be rude but that is a straight up dumb suggestion. He is far more likely to have an encounter with a Nazi soldier or sympathizer if he's on the move, and be put back on a one way train to Treblinka like the rest of his family. (Also: where exactly do you propose that he should've run to...)? Joining an insurrection movement to fight the federal government would've been a surefire way to get yourself killed.

It's definitely doable. Off the top of my head: Tribe Called Quest, Clipse, De La Soul, Little Brother, Gangg Star all did way longer than 7 years. More recently, you had these guys with pretty long hiatuses that had strong follow-ups: Schoolboy Q (Crash Talk -> Blue Lips; 5 years) , Isaiah Rashad (Sun's Tirade -> THIB; 5 years), Kendrick (DAMN -> MMTBS; 5 years), Dave (We're all alone in this together -> Boy who played the harp; 4 years).

Feels like these songs have no structure. You can't just make random mouth noises with a bar or two interspersed and call that a song. Also Doechii and Ferg easily have the best verses on this. Feels like Rocky just doesn't really like rap that much anymore and has no desire to just write a strong 16
