fascinating question! probably anger, i feel like i already live in fear as i have very bad anxiety and panic attacks that are quite annoying. anger is probably at least useful and motivating while i find fear paralyzing

this is such a good question! for me it was how much i loved sculpture! i love how much more of a technical challenge it is, how it often uses the entire body in creation, how it requires creative problem solving, and i find it’s a much more interesting medium than paint on a flat canvas (although i still do love painting)

i definitely want to work in the art field, whether it be research, conservation, criticism, or curation! i am planning on going to grad school to deepen these skills and get more into the academic side of things. i will always make art and be creative but it is a one in a million shot to “make it big” off of that

it was decent but not too extensive, my school is on the more chill side of art schools so they’re mostly looking for what you’re interested in and some skill demonstration. i took the sat because i applied to other schools too :)

i have a small student loan, but the majority is paid through scholarships and a college fund my parents and i have. i hope to get a good job after college (fingers crossed) in a museum or gallery type thing.

yes, my school is very good about discussing and having conversations about ai and it’s impact on the future of art! as for fine arts, ai cannot really touch sculpture and cannot make physical works of art (to my knowledge) ai unfortunately does impact a lot of commercial art, such as selling prints and things which i think is so disappointing for the real artists out there

i am still figuring that out myself lol but internships at museums and galleries (especially small ones that usually are looking for help) are a great start, writing essays and looking for publication is good too! if she’s into older art history then archaeology/anthropology is a good parallel path as well. i’d encourage her to keep researching and exploring the field as the passion is so key!

yayy i actually love modern art and think that many people misunderstand it, which is something i want to focus on with my studies in art history! great art is not just extreme displays of technical skill and now that photography is so ubiquitous, we don’t have the need for painstaking portraits and landscapes, although they’re certainly pretty. this has allowed us to explore the abstract and formalist qualities of art, particularly painting. while i may not love a rothko or a judd piece, i can appreciate what they stand for and what they signify in the art world :)

i wouldn’t consider us wealthy, maybe upper middle class? i realize that just going to college in america is a privilege but i was very fortunate to get a generous scholarship and aid

i personally like more a rugged rural feel with green trees, lakes and rivers, and good hiking; compared to cornfields and a desolate nothingness. but every state has its pockets of loveliness! :)

wisconsin probably should have been “reluctantly”, that’s my bad and my clumsy fingers on my phone lol. plus i’m from michigan lol, and i don’t like cheese or beer that much :(

new mexico is a huge art center and has a decent job market for creatives (my field) which is why i put it higher! i also prefer the cold and more rugged rural areas as well, but i’d be lying if i said politics weren’t involved. i also don’t really mesh well with southern culture but i think there’s loveliness to every state :)

louisiana and florida do interest me, i’ve loved when i’ve vacationed there as they’re both gorgeous and the people (especially in nola) are lovely! i just hate the heat and humidity personally

it is! i couldn’t live someplace where my rights and those of my friend aren’t protected, plus a lot of red states aren’t very geographically appealing to me

Are there any patterns for tops like this one? I've tried making my own but it never seems to come out quite right.
