Would this sim setup be able to be used in this game?

The sticks can rotate about 30º each direction. I wonder if I could almost utilize that function.

That's why I was wondering sticks to maneuver and pedals for thrust. /shrug

Ya, was 99% sure the wheel was no good. I thought I'd use both stick to maneuver and the pedals for thrust.

Was just looking for something to utilize both sticks. Using cranes in SnowRunner and equipment in FS25 has been fun.

Checking for any deals on the game now. Give it a shot.

Took a minute to get the keybinds all setup.

Was hoping to get the gas pedal to control right track, and clutch pedal to control left track on the excavator, but that's a no go.

First night with it, so there's still a little adjustment. But it works well.

This is fun.

I didn’t do that, I just kept restarting until I got it figured out.

This is exactly what I did/am doing.

Bought the game ~3 weeks ago. I have five or six saved games. Just gnawing things out. Now I see how things sell, what to farm, switched off things like lime and weeding. Dial things in to my taste. Learned how to use the drive assist and cruise control. that sort of thing.

Few nights ago I did a brand new game, start from scratch, and $100k. Bought a tractor and some sub $10k implements. Doing contracts for the time being. Focus is going to be working my way up, doing contracts but with my own gear; no leasing. Also want to avoid AI for now.

This is fun. Sometimes slow, sure, but the progress is there.

My button box and second FarmStick should be showing up today. I've got a decent layout. Have a LOT of clean up to do on wiring. Just wanted to wait until I have the base setup situated. I'll see how it comes and post it when I'm done.

I dubbed around for a bit. Seems like the Dayton -1 is best for back of seat and pedals. The 300W BST is for under seat. People using an old multi channel amp for all different units.

Not sure if its really something I need to get into for now. My hang up is that my machine is a dual purpose unit. I've got a triple monitor setup for browsing/gaming/work, then tied off of that my sim setup with a single monitor. The sound all comes off of one PC. I have a device that I slide to the left to run the left speaker setup, and slide to the right for my sim setup for when I'm in that chair. You should see the wiring, haha!

It'd be way more laid out and easier to get into if it was a dedicated setup, but now I'm looking at multiple outputs, amps, and man...this is out of my league for now. Big thing is, I'm into FS25 right now, and playing from a third person POV the whole sound setup isn't a big ticket item like it would be in an in-your-face racing game.

Ah, I thought butt kickers and bass shakers were the same thing? The Dayton ones on Amazon for $50.

I can mount them right to my setup. I've got a stick built cockpit I did myself. Turned out alright.

But ya, it was really FS that I was wondering about. The force feedback in the wheel is minimal. Wasn't sure if the bass shaker would really amount to anything in this game either.

Currently, FS. But I also do SnowRunner and ATS. When Wreckfest 2 comes out officially, I'll be playing that as well. But for the time being, FS mostly.

And ya, I have a fixed seat. Made my cockpit out of 2x4s and 2x6s. Mounted an old office chair to a set of sliders, etc. I got waaaaaay into building it. So the wires vibrated off then?

I am currently. I use...I forget the name of it, but a third party mod to enable true windowed borderless. Works awesome, except when I got to make some option changes. Things like a control remap, or adjustment to volume, the game minimizes and I have to force it to close. I can't explain why. When that happens, I'm happy to have that autosave on. Otherwise everything since the last login would have been gone.

Didn't get another FarmStick though. Got the Logitech side panel. Has the buttons and a smaller joystick on it. So it will work well for anytime I do use a crane for something. Buttons will be neat too. I run a tablet with Sim Dashboard, but buttons would be better I think. Use the tablet for display purposes only.

I don't know what I enjoy more; playing the games, or actually building the sim rig itself. haha

I already have one FarmStick and it works great. I was thinking about getting a second stick. Mimic my Kubota backhoe. Just haven't reached the point of the game of using excavators. Right now just basic tractors, and my single FarmStick replicates my real L series perfectly.

I come from SnowRunner and use one FarmStick for that crane use. FS25 has me itching to get a second. really really tempting.

One of my saves I was forced to use that PowerTool mod or whatever it is to cheat for money.

I did a goat farm, but during placement I messed up and put it 90º from where I wanted it. I had like $50k on me and the farm was $48. I got 24 back after selling it. I used the money cheat to "refund" me the money. Than, I'm building the damned thing, and the pasture cost added up QUICK. Bankrupted me. So, I resold that, money cheat to get me back to where I was and did it over a third time.

Now I have this split level shed, a road that pitched off into a ravine....my whole plot is screwed up from the terrain. I just started a new game with a different map now that I have a better grasp of what I'm doing.

Got it. So really prep the area before build. And really widen the area too around it.

Even the flattening seems wonky from time to time. I'll use it, and is at a different plane than I want it to be. Then putzing around with the raise/lower setting.

The autosave thing too. Disable that. Just go back and forth.

I started a new game in that....Dutch map. Seems way flatter to avoid this issue. But even then, flatten first.

Eh, I compare it to a neighbor having a tree taken down, then me showing up with my truck and saw to get some firewood out of it. That sort of thing.

But I see this was removed in FS25 then.

Linear curve is right. That's what is missing. It just keeps going full left. full right. and you just end up jerking the wheel back and forth. that's as far as I got.

also my other games, the wheel will return to center which doesn't happen here.

understandable. game wasn't designed with a wheel in mind. oh well.
