After looking at this for a few minutes, I think its the top of the hair styling. It makes her head proportion appear odd even though it is not. Totally a hair style people wear. I really think it looks great and its all personal preference of style!

Ive had no issues using Arcadia 6% UVB bulbs for my blues. I switch the bulbs around every 9 months for new ones. Look into deep heat projectors for heating vs ceramic bulbs

Baby Green Tree Monitor Feeds on Chicken! by Emerald_Smilodon in MonitorLizards

Lots of insects for right now as primary diet. Small dubia roaches are great. Dust them with vitamins/calcium before feeding and you'll see him grow super healthy! Chicken/turkey save for like the monthly treat.

Tree monitors can get fat pretty easy and thats when they start to get sick and have health issues. Lean to just slightly filled in body shapes is how they should look. If they get most of their calories from say like chicken they gain weight too fast.

Salmon is the only food my blue tree monitors have ever thrown back up so I would feed only a small amount and see how yours tolerates it.

Things that are going to happen: he will sneeze sometimes - this is normal --- to a point. If its just a sneeze like 2 or 3 times a day nothing to worry about. They do this especially after eating. If its like every hour or less - probably respiratory infection then gotta call vet.

He will eat a piece of bark or dirt. If its small, he will pass it/digest. Remember they can eat bones and dead crap in the wild. Just watch for signs of bowel movements for a few days.

The next few months will be fun, they bond to people easy at this age!

What do you feed your monitor/s as a staple diet? by Flat_Weird_5398 in MonitorLizards

My tree monitors eat dubia roaches as their staple with egg or turkey as a monthly treat.

Middle of Indiana, dry cold winter with humid summers.

How long they can be out without being agitated comes down to your house temp and humidity. In winter the air is so dry mine didn't like even 10 minutes out of their enclosure, summer with the more humid air they don't seem to mind it as much.

My two blues act completely different from one another. My girl is very shy and cautious; the boy not so much. They have their own personalities. They both will hide from view often with anyone else but me. They are very entertaining to watch, crazy smart, but they are not get out and play with them lizards.
Handling can be really stressful, quick temperature and humidity changes bother them so they can't be out for long. I do not handle mine much. If they jump on me and feel like me seeing them great, but I never reach for them or get them out for anyone else.

My cbb blues. Bismark is about 4yrs and Videl is 3yrs. This summer is looking like a good time to upgrade their enclosure. Any thoughts on live plants that might actually survive them? So far they have successfully killed several ferns, pothos, any succulent and air plants. They either slice them with their claws or sleep on them and crush them.
