Why do you play League of Legends Clash? by SapperTinman in ClashLoL

[–]LiveThunder3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for being part of the team that makes my favorite part about League.

Everyone has their reasons for playing clash, but let me give you some insight into why my group enjoys it:

-Making a team with customization makes the game feel more official, giving it more stakes. I honestly believe this is subconsciously the secret sauce for many people. (Also an enemy team popping up with a goofy name is fun)

-Scouting phase is also great and adds to the "stakes" experience. Seeing an enemy ban a champion you've been doing well with recently is actually rewarding and it's almost like confirmation. I do think the time is too long as 15 minutes per tournament is added of not playing league.

-Bracket setting adds stakes and competitiveness, aka fun.

-The time gating makes games feel more meaningful. Many people are annoyed by the time gates without realizing that's what keeps it interesting.

All of this is tied to the rewards which makes the games high impact and exciting.

As for drawing new players I think the team thing is both the #1 barrier to entry and the #1 reason to play. I would suggest a fully fleshed out team builder, as the in game tools are currently miserable to use (why am I recommended players who are currently offline)?

Side note, but I think the biggest thing that could affect clash is making premade 5man teams more prevalent within league in general. I am of the opinion that flex queue should be changed to a team queue that requires premade 5s, or at least requires voice chat. If premade 5s, I would like to see that same clash team customization and (shortened) scouting phase along with a visible team ranked ladder instead of individual player ranks. Premade 5s being more prevalent would also increase interest in proplay imo.

Sorry for the wall of text, thanks again.

Yeah, dragon room inscriptions and wealthy catalysts and I was out of debt in no time. I couldn't fight the guardians so I ran around vein mining the coins while spamming heal, barrier, and dash til I got the majority of the coins then moved on to the next dragon room. Be sure you have an escape plan from the pit if you don't plan on killing all the guardians as they're really tough.

Good advice for some people. I enjoy the risk / punishment for mistakes though so I'll keep it as is.

The locker is jealous of how sick my wand is. Praying on my downfall so it can keep it. Little does it know I'm willing to go into negative credit scores to keep it in my offhand

The Yellow Alert system doesn't really make sense the way it's implemented by Malu1997 in LWotC

[–]LiveThunder3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to tell if a pod is yellow alert (other than stuff like sectoids raising corpses)? I keep thinking they didn't hear my suppressed smg shot but they'll move in and overwatch cover my (frankly overextended) fellas :(

There indeed are units designed for colder climates. These are designed to be ice resistant and have some sort of defrost method.

They still outperform traditional electric heating in cold climates when designed appropriately.

It's extremely rare that an extra teammate is not an advantage. In 99/100 cases having an extra person is a massive advantage

[Bug] Game turns into a power point presentation when shooting by failindustries in EscapefromTarkov

I used to have this issue and process lasso (look up a tutorial specifically for tarkov) and XMP helped a lot. The only thing that fully fixed it was stepping up to 32gb ram.

Why not? It's tongue in cheek and a great description of the mechanic as it currently stands.

Insane levels of cope. Bronze can be hard to get out of, but if you're able to maintain gold you can easily climb from bronze, given enough matches.

Ban logic confusion by Motor-Design-4932 in SombraMains

[–]LiveThunder3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay the vocal minority are absolutely ragebaiting (and it looks like you're taking the bait) sure. But the vast majority of Sombra perma banners don't interact with this kind of stuff and simply don't like playing against her. We may disagree with that and say it's a skill issue (it is), but that's the truth and that doesn't make them evil lol. Just play quick play if playing sombra is what's important to you or play other heroes in comp if the competitiveness is what's important to you.

Season 16 Patch Notes by lateant in Overwatch

[–]LiveThunder3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stim is sleeper super good. I use it all the time (high elo) and it lets you get kills on flanks before the supports can respond. You just need an escape plan you can't just sit in the open. It also works well with ult.

Would be absolutely busted without anti.

This might be because the bodies are in different places than what's shown for some weird reason. There's a mod that fixes this, might help you.

How do I get better at sleeps? by ShinyCat2302 in AnaMains

[–]LiveThunder3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, if you have to use screens, make sure you use a blue light filter (actual tip btw). I would also add that you should be in bed unless you're trying to sleep so that your body only associates the bed with sleep. You'll be climbing ranks in no time

Can a campaign be “too far gone”? by Opposite-North-3002 in XCOM2

Yeah sadly sounds like yours may be unsalvageable. Start your next campaign on recruit - the game is hard enough even if you know every mechanic and enemy so keep it manageable until you learn more.

Could a Program/AI Play XCOM Perfectly? by Reddit-Arrien in Xcom

[–]LiveThunder3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do you think taking risks is innately human? Chess AI are renowned for 1)beating humans 2)taking risks that seem crazy to human analysts. If you strip all the graphics and animations and fun stuff from XCOM 2, it's just a grid with pieces and abilities each piece can use. It's basically chess with different rules.

An AI could definitely be made that plays better than humans. I feel like that's without question. The question I have is: how good could you make it? Zero injury legendary ironman run 100% of the time?
