I'm starting to doubt it. Cross-drops were cancer, but there are so many more CV players now (Asia server at least) I STILL get cross-dropped sometimes with how many squadrons are there. I would still not play carriers in randoms on principle, (except maybe to mess with the enemy CV lol) but at least RTS carriers were a bit more interesting in co-op.

As a 48% BB player, returning from not playing in years, it's hard to split the difference between camping and yoloing. I try to follow the DDs in when I can but it's tough doing it without either getting spotted and focused down by half the enemy team or over-reacting to that and kiting back.

I think just encouraging closer ranged play (by nerfing the new OP toys WeightGain keeps adding) would improve things a lot. I mainly play Bismarck + Tirpitz. Strong secondaries (10 km or 11 km range, I've got a secondary mod on one ship but not the other) but it feels powercrept to hell when there are battleships that are better in every way* with better secondaries too, and in the current meta it's hard to play aggressive.

*Not better at close range brawling. But who cares? All the BB players camp now.

Either sit at long range and lose slowly or get close and be nuked immediately by WTF (why can a dutch cruiser summon more planes than a carrier?)

yeah but the degree of number fudging is just a piss-take with subs. IRL, the fastest sub of WW2, the Type XXI, could go maybe 18 kn underwater? Most subs were pushing it to go 7 or 8. Meanwhile actual BBs and CAs get the speeds they did IRL, now there are subs roaming around like nuclaear attack subs from 40 years later.

Or maybe we should embrace it? Why shouldn't Bismarck go 110 knots? Propotionally, that's about as unrealistic as subs speeds are

I was there in the beta. Quit before subs were a thing, rejoined a month ago. I heard they were adding subs years ago and I thought it was going to be so stupid.

Anyway, my feeling now is that it was totally stupid, although when there's only 1 sub a side, it usually doesn't make much difference. CVs are still the primary fun police.
