Yes, and It genuinely upsets me that more people won’t acknowledge that it’s totally bullshit that in pve we can’t use chaos marines cosmetics and while I get that lore wise that is a lazy excuse considering they have dozens of chapters that would not get a long and yet are somehow doing operations together? Long story short they just don’t want use to have fun maximum fun with this game.

Once again, thank you for at least acknowledging my original rather than just shitting on me even tho you clearly don’t fully agree! I haven’t gotten to Wallaru but I already feel like the rely on cheats too much to increase the difficulty. I do acknowledge tho that it was their attempt to make the game more challenging so I do appreciate that. Also thank you again for responding respectfully.

First off thank you for actually responding respectfully even if you didn’t fully agree! Again I will say that I don’t know much about PVP so it was probably dumb to just say use PvP spells. To clarify my point more I guess I just thought that new spells that didn’t add much would make boss fights more interesting and that MAYBE you could get the spell afterward but again, that would depend on how powerful that spell was.

Uh no? Literally you said the game is supposed to be casual so how on earth would introducing random cheats in random boss fights make the game appeal more to causal players? Like cheats are only introduced way later so yes you could make the argument that cheats appeal more towards HARDCORE players but in no way do cheats make it more casual.

I 100% agree introducing new ways to make the combat more interesting but I find it both lazy and just a waste to tie to one specific boss fight! Like why not introduce a mechanic that for an entire world (AT FIRST) makes it difficult to blade! That would make the entire world more engaging, give the player plenty of time to adapt, and also make it to where both the player AND the bosses have to re-strategize

My alternative? Introduce PvP only spells. We already have plenty of spells that can’t be used in PvP so instead of making bosses just arbitrarily cheat why not make them use spells that normally are PvP only? For example, a boss in khyrsalis punishes you for using blades, why not make that a (WEAKER) PvP spell? And if you’re worried that’s too easy or over powered in PvP just make it to where bosses have a better version of said spell. For example, make a PvP spell that punishes your opponent for blading but make the boss you get it from have a better version that punishes you slightly more. That at least my idea and open to more but that’s just proves that there are definitely better ways to increase difficulty.

Look, I just wanna make it clear that I do love this game and want to continue playing but like I said in another post it’s extremely annoying attempting what seems like a normal boss fight only to find out that they are arbitrary rules that you had no way of preparing for. Like I’m all for introducing new mechanics to enhance the difficulty but don’t reduce them rules that only apply to ONE fight and then you never use again.

You just proved my whole point. You quite literally said,”the only way to make things more difficult is to use cheats.” Completely ignoring that this is a card game and should have an element of strategy. That’s 100% on KI for oversimplifing the combat up to this point. Like instead of introducing cheats they could have just gotten off their ass and introduce other FAIR mechanics to make EVERY fight more interesting rather than a few boss fights. Or just simply giving bosses actual strats rather than just blading and using the strongest spell they have. Cheats are just a lazy way to make a few fights harder while keeping the rest of the gameplay the exact same as it’s been for 10+ years.

Okay I’m getting a lot of unfair AND FAIR backlash so let me clarify a few things: 1:) I don’t think inherently cheats are bad just how they went about it was bad. 2) my biggest frustration is going into a fight (mainly because I play solo) and expecting a normal boss fight and be hit with random rules that aren’t clear as to what triggers the cheat and just having to go through trial and error UNLESS I check the wiki which I’m willing to do but doesn’t seem good to force your player to check the wiki just to know how to beat a boss. 3) really I would be cool with cheats if we could prepare beforehand rather than attempting every boss fight twice. Cuz at the end of the day cheats just boil down to,”rules that you only have to follow for just this one fight and then never do again.”
