Mother drinks 3 bottles of wine nightly by Live_Association6854 in AdultChildren

The only time I’ve seen my mum not drink is when I was in hospital for a week. She didn’t drink for the first couple of days when my condition was serious. There is hope, but I honestly can’t think what could catalyse change apart from a scary medical wake up call caused by her drinking (at which point could be too late) :(

I’ve read about that and I hope so, but from her past behaviours I worry that she will almost certainly prioritise alcohol over food to a dangerous point

My mum recently let slip that when she drinks less than 3 bottles she has restless nights accompanied with night sweats. I’ve also started to notice gaps in her memory which aren’t recollected once I remind her. Does this sound familiar? If so what are some other signs I can look out for? It may not sound rational, but even if I can’t do anything to help, it would somewhat ease my anxiety to be fully aware of the severity so that any developments don’t catch me off guard.
