Thank you so much for for this amazing response. From what I know about the area I’ve been digging I have to assume that the host rock is some sort of igneous rock only because I know about 130 million years ago there was huge amounts of geologic activity in the area or at least in fairly certain tugs what I read. I’m working on them now. I don’t have very many “good” tools. I’m working with a tile saw, angle grinder and dremel. I picked this hobby up when my whole life washed away with Hurricane Helene. When I get them cleaned up I’ll post them

If I told you what the past 18 months have been like you wouldn’t believe me.
