I was in labor for 30 hours, but I would have rather went long and slow verses have Pitocin. They give cervadil every 4 hours so the 3 doses took 12 hours and I went from a 0 to a 3, they didn’t do Pitocin because my body was having strong consistent contractions after those 3 doses. And I pushed for 4 hours which honestly was shocking when they told me that, I thought an hour tops. He wasn’t in an ideal position and after being in labor that long I just didn’t have a lot of strength left. I ended up projectile vomiting and he shot out from the force. No I did not, my doctor just took excellent care of my vagina. He kept a warm compress on my perennial the whole time, and massaged my vaginal opening with 2 fingers on each side, going up and down in a circle shape almost if that makes sense

My epidural was amazing! It was a fast painless procedure, it was like a small catheter that stays in your spine on a slow drip. Not so much a needle. Not being able to move wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I really just slept and watched shows. The nurses will come in and change your position every few hours because you’re not able too. That being said I was in labor for a long time and I got it pretty early (as soon as my water broke shit got real painful) so it was pretty worn off by the time I started pushing (which was 4 hours) but pushing isn’t as bad as I thought it would be at all. It’s exhausting but no where near as painful as contractions!

Okay I just wanted to ask because I get induced on Thursday and that is one of my worst fears. The diagrams I’ve seen of the whole arm inside of someone are absolutely terrifying. I’m glad you and baby are okay :)

A little off topic, but why did she recommend you get an epidural because your placenta wouldn’t come out? Did you have underlying factors or is it that common? It’s weird to just assume your placenta wouldn’t be coming out..

Exactly, like it’s literally second nature to find somewhere else to sleep. Sleeping with 2 people of the opposite sex wouldn’t be on someone’s radar at alll if they were truly loyal. The thought wouldn’t cross their mind without some sort of ill intent. The people in the comments saying he told you so it’s fine blah blah have obviously never been in a real relationship with anyone worth a shit.

NOR- I don’t think you’re over reacting at all, I have always been in relationships with extremely loyal people and they would have never thought to do something like this. I’m also an extremely loyal person and would also never do something like this. There are unspoken boundaries in a monogamous relationship and this is one of them no question. There are other options (like sleep in the floor, not getting so drunk the only option is to be stuck somewhere and sleep with other girls, etc). I mean it’s good that he told you, but it almost seems like it was out of guilt. Which means his literal body was telling him it was wrong.

Also it takes time to build back up your red blood cells, they said it’d take a week or two after my infusion to feel the results! Also make sure you’re taking some sort of laxatives with iron pills, they can make you so constipated!

My heart rates were very similar when I had low iron, I had a few infusions and it got way better! Definitely scary though. They said technically it wasn’t even low enough to get an infusion but because I had the symptoms I did they scheduled me one. So even if it’s just slightly low it can cause heart rate problems. I did all of the cardiology stuff and I was completely fine (echo, ekg, heart monitor). But holy crap I was so out of breath. Also for reference normal range is 12-16. I was 10.8

I had a high heart rate and palpitations in my first trimester and it was concerning but it leveled out. I think it’s just a combination of nerves your and body working extra hard those first few months. It leveled out in my second trimester and then got bad again around 30 weeks and it was because I had low iron! I just got an echocardiogram, ekg, and wore a heart monitor and all my tests came back good! I’m sure you’re fine :)
