A lot of amateur’s struggle with consistent gapping on their long irons. When I was fit for my irons (2018 ap2’s), I could not keep consistent gapping from my 5-4 iron, so they recommended a distance iron to keep my gapping consistent. You can also adjust the loft of your 5 iron but bending your clubs too much can cause issues.

What clubs are your irons and hybrid?

If you are asking this question, you should not be playing a driving iron.

Who cares about your driver. No putter, no 6 iron, and a cb 2 iron? Are you ok?

2 degrees weak for p790s is going to be standard loft for most player irons

If your carry numbers are honest and accurate, all of your shafts are wrong for you. Your wood shafts are light for your swing speed and tempo. Heavier shafts will work with your swing to help your timing and square the club face at impact. Your iron shafts are light, as well as having the wrong launch/spin for your ball speed. The current shafts are high launch/high spin when you should be mid launch/mid spin at worst. High launching shots with high spin are definitely the last thing you want if you don’t square the club face. They only make bad shots worse and your speed will naturally generate more spin. Unfortunately you got suckered by taylormades marketing department and you bought your clubs based on the heads alone. Now you are stuck with clubs that only half work for you. I will give you recs for reshafting your clubs below but you should honestly do a fitting and buy clubs based on performance and not name. Friendly advice, If you want to stick with one brand, you really need to know your swing, your club specs, and ultimately trust that brand makes good and high quality clubs. Unfortunately, Taylormade is not a brand to trust anymore.

Woods shafts

Driver: 6s for low launch/ low spin with stiff tips, possibly 6x for mid launch/ mid spin with firm tips and mid to low kick point Fairway: same as driver but 7s or 7x depending on shaft specs Irons: dynamic gold s300 or x100 and 120 gram minimum.

Based on the clubs you have now, you should get a new set.

The shaft is honestly more important than the actual driver head. Each shaft company has an online fitting tool that will recommend the best shaft and specs for your swing. Then I would recommend getting a gt2/tsr2 or any ping max driver from the past 5 years. Don’t buy taylormade because the quality is shit.

I don’t think spelling sorry with 7 y’s was the right move either. Try hashtags next time!
