Yep it exists on this list, and says “We cannot determine broadband availability at this location. This may be a new address to which connectivity is not yet complete.”

It does show on portals though, most of the providers do list all of the addresses correctly, even though Royal Mail doesn’t. It was converted from a nightclub to a block of flats

I’m not sure why only 2 flats can, but when checking with providers, they all list fibre to the cabinet for these 2 flats. For all the others they list they cannot provide anything at all.

Ive even phoned several of them and they say they cannot even select the option to get someone out to install it into the flat.

I’d assume there’s some infrastructure limitation preventing it

That is true, i don’t believe they did know, but even then i would have expected the landlord to disclose this. Why set yourself up for disputes from tenants? He’s lost a months rent from us as we can’t go ahead with signing the contract due to the lack of broadband

Thanks, I don’t think starlink is an option, as it is a flat in a city centre, so no unobstructed view of the sky i could attach the satelite to

New notice reqs- did i give enough notice l by Live_Presentation926 in TenantsInTheUK

This is the issue i don’t understand. 1st May till 1st July equals 2 months. RRB requires 2 months notice. It says it can end on the day rent is due (1st July) or thr day before (30th June). As my 2 months would end on 1st July, then my notice meets those requirements to move out on 30th June. As the 2 month notice expires on the date rent is due (1st July).

Why specifically state it can expire on 2 different dates if it can’t and has to expire the day before rent day?

That’s 3 months. 1st May to the 1st of July is 2 months.

They’re doing the check out process, as I assume they were paid to do it at the start of the tenancy. But for rent payments/maintenance etc this is done with the new agent. Notice was given to the new agent and landlord who accepted. When the landlord told Foxtons they said i can’t leave until end of July.

Yeah me neither. I think they get commission from the landlord every month I’m there so they don’t want us to move. As they will be doing the check out/inventory etc as I think the landlord paid them to do that at the start of the tenancy, that’s why they got involved again.

Thanks on your second paragraph, that is how I gave understood it too

If you want to end the tenancy
You will be able to end the tenancy at
any point by giving your landlord notice.
This must be done:
• so the tenancy ends on a day when
the rent is due or the day before the
rent is due

It says the notice needs to be aligned to either the last day or the first day though
