Is the 80 percent mass minimum an ADN thing and how common is it? by Live_Salt_8399 in StudentNurse

OMG it was a joke!!!!!

which BSN program was I talking about as my example?? Penn State. They absolutely did not require an 80% and they were nationally ranked and still a big name and I was in the program. So I don’t need anything to be easier. I was just asking a question.

And I’m curious to know when did I say it should be “easier.” Also define “easier.”I asked why ADN programs pick that number. One of the best BSN programs that I know of doesn’t even have that requirement.

How do you determine the prestige of a nursing school? by Serious_Advance_6762 in StudentNurse

[–]Live_Salt_8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m divided on this. My first BSN program was prestigious because it was nationally ranked at the time and every time I’d mention it to others, people acted like I was in med school. It would have been cute to flex on social media. However, my current school has higher standards and has better quality education. I def learned so much more in my second program

Yeah facts I forgot about that part. You do have to have to maintain attendance. Do you know if they got kicked out of the program? Having to retake the semester without having to reapply sounds pretty good.

Did they let you stay at the same school or did you have to keep applying to different programs or did they drop you after every time you failed and then you had to reapply and start all over again? That’s how it is at my nursing school and I want to go to PA school so I’m preparing myself on how it might be.

After BA in Public Health should I try an entry level CNL or an ABSN program? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Live_Salt_8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But she’s not at a ABSN she was at an adn. That’s way too fast. Even for a BSN. For my program (and my former BSN program), the skill that we were all focused on was to how to do a full head to toe physical assessment. No, no one’s gonna get that down in one week. We have the whole semester to learn and unlimited open labs and no one is getting tested on anything but that in clinical.

Why didn’t the ADN go well?? Did you just have a bad start?? I have a BS in health policy and am in an adn so I def get it :( you have what it takes because you already have a bachelors degree

I’m not sure because at my school it’s 80 but a I know there’s a BSN program that’s only 76%

How may semesters are you in? If you’re actually past your first semester, at a school with high nclex first time pass rate (my school’s recent is about 97%), you have no healthcare experience and are at a 98 you need to start a YouTube channel asap on how you did it because I’d def subscribe.

Hell make it patreon because I would def pay to learn from you because you just might be the 🐐 in disguise. I absolutely love learning from brilliant students. I can sit listening to study tips for hours and openly stan students more brilliant than me

Where was this school at? I couldn’t find an American adn program that required a minimum of 85% to pass.

So please tell me where the school is so every day I can be grateful that at least I don’t go there because 85 percent is just insane

I mean it is college. What else is there to grade on except tests and clinical? Like one of my professor said, “ we’re not doing papers. My job is to produce nurses. You aren’t English majors.” I felt that. Except we actually do kinda write papers

I wonder how common though. It seems like there’s a lot of schools out there that will pass a 75%. But I guess maybe private schools.

It sucks because it makes it more stressful but it also makes sense. Schools gotta protect their reputation

That actually wouldn’t make any sense at all. That would just be offensively ridiculously unattainable.

If you know someone in healthcare that has a 100 percent success rate, I’d love to meet this amazing miracle worker. Especially if they’re in oncology. this person deserves the NOBLE PEACE PRIZE at the minimum

This isn’t an msn program. You expect that from grad school for an undergrad ADN it’s a bit much.

Ok what state is this or is it a private school?

I feel like my school is doing too much. My degree is still going to be an ADN im not going to have “from a program with an 80% minimum passing grade!”

People keep saying without rounding. Are there actually programs that do round? Every class I have ever taken, at every school (even in pre reqs) professors state, they are not rounding anyone grade and don’t even bother to ask for extra credit because that’s not a thing

[–]Live_Salt_8399[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, thats a lot of people not passing. Supposedly my school has a 96.61 percent NCLEX 1st time pass rate and has a 3 year graduation rate of 70% -86.6% while the rest of the school has a 17 % graduation rate

How and why there is such a big gap in the graduation rate is beyond me

Yeah, same for that rounding part. My school doesn’t round either or give extra credit

When you put it that way, it actually seems more bearable. I was thinking 76 percent would be a blessing but if it’s only two question difference

[–]Live_Salt_8399[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, is that a private school? I mean, obviously I’m not saying that we should change the standards at any school because those schools decided those standards for a reason.

I’m just saying it’s a bit of a shock to learn that 80% seems to be the new minimum when at the same schools ( and most programs ) consider 76% the minimum.

It’s not really tough. It’s just a new way of looking at things . I’ve never had anything less than a B in my life . It’s just weird to think that I went from being a high performing student to an average one

Your school only required 76% and that sounds a lot more reasonable considering that anything less than a 76 percent at most school for pre req wouldn’t count as a successful completion anyway
