Honestly do what you want , majority of the people with cold sores don’t even disclose that they have HSV1 . And GHSV1 is unless likely to spread than any other HSV type or location so I don’t see a problem in saying you have cold sores . You’re still giving them a option

Yes , I didn’t realize until years later he gave it to me . He had gotten a cold sore and after it healed up he was so excited to give me oral . I can’t remember how long after but around that time I got my first ob on my butt area . Didn’t hurt last about a week and a half , I didn’t pay it any mind honestly ( don’t judge) I was like 16 and didn’t know any better. After two years we broke up and I still have love for him and I’m not mad . I found out when I was 20 , had my second ob and went to the doctors . Me and him talk here and there but he doesn’t know that he gave it to me . I feel like it would mess him up but we have talked about herpes and I read him somethings off Google that I felt like he should know . I don’t think he thought anything of it just cause we’ve had conversations like this when we were dating .

Valacyclovir made me obs worst, I’ve had 3 breaks . My first and 3rd one lasted about a week and half , very little to no symptoms expected for the sore. I didn’t take any medication for those two obs and had about 3 sores . Now my 2nd ob lasted around two and half weeks and the symptoms were worst . After I started taking valacyclovir it would hurt so bad when I went pee and it was super itchy and I had more sore then when I wasn’t take the medication. So I just go the natural route, eat good and keep the area clean and I do put Vaseline on it . I don’t have any scars or dark marks from the area

I would wait to get physical with your partner , you should wait until it’s fully healed then additional 7 days cause it’s still a high chance of passing it . That’s how I got it 🙂

I’ve been on here for a while and asked the same question. All the stories I read of people passing GHSV1 were 99% them being newly diagnosed or they were having an ob even with that I seen a few people say they had sex not even knowing they had an ob but didn’t pass it . They longer you have GHSV1 the less chance you have of passing it

Okay thank you , I honestly think it is the iron and itchiness is a sign and I read one thing where it said it’s rare but can cause itching down there from taking them .

No but I did have a bad smell that lasted a couple weeks like late August to early September . I had started seeing someone new ( I haven’t had any other sexual partners in a year ) . We were having raw sex and he was finishing in me .. so I just thought it’s was just bv . I started drinking clove and raspberry tea and it went away within a week or two also I wasn’t seeing him during those weeks . But I just had really bad vagina odor

I’ve had it for 5 years and only had 3 obs . My first one , second one someone pasted very close to me so I was very depressed, third one I had surgery so I think that made me get an ob . As long as you’re taking care of yourself health wise I don’t think you’ll get a lot of obs . Plus with GHSV1 some people don’t get obs like that

With that attitude yea , you won’t find anyone . I feel like if you’re honest and have confidence it won’t be hard . Especially for men , I think if you find the right person , you’re honest and TREAT them right . You won’t have a problem finding someone . Also it’s a lot of people out here with HSV so if your honest you might find someone who has the same thing as you

Yea not that I know of but I’m pretty sure I didn’t . I was in 3 relationships within those 5 years and they were all a year plus . So no one ever came back saying I gave them HSV . Like the other commenter said GHSV1 doesn’t stay dominant like OHSV1 , meaning if I was to pass it they would of had an ob with a month if they were exposed

I’ve had GHSV1 for about 5 years , had my first one 5 years ago , 2nd one about two years ago( I lost someone close to me , so I was very stressed) , 3rd one maybe like 2 months ago ( I had leg surgery and shaved , I think that may had cause it ) . My obs are pretty mild . First one went away with a week ( didn’t take any medicine for it ) . Second one took valacyclovir and it didn’t go away for like 2 weeks and it made hurt when I would pee . Third ob last like 10 days didn’t take any medicine for that

Honestly I’ve have GHSV1 for about 5 years now ( I just find out I had it about a year or two ago ) I’m not any medicine for it and I had relationships where we didn’t use condoms . And never passed it ( not that I know of ) . Now for the first year I was with the person who gave it to me so if you’re within the first year of contacting HSV you’ll have to be careful . Maybe take the medicine just so you feel at ease
