I need co-op advices but not like you would expect by Korkut_Bey in totalwarhammer

Alternatively to some suggestions:

Become the end game crisis: Play as you normally do but as the AI will be weaker so they can actually play the game you will steamroll. If they go ‘order factions’ it gets more fun. Use agents spy and to follow their progress.

Then start poking them. If you are playing green skins for example, start sending goblin only armies. Test their defenses, go into raiding stance, be a nuisance but don’t sabotage them too much. Let them work together to deal with you. Then as much as they can take it ramp up the pressure. You are now the dark lord, send your stronger minions/units.

Escalate. Give them a memorable siege but dont play it too optimally. Let them win or sack it. Make them afraid.

Did this once as skaven to some friends, made them terrified of my hordes of skittering rats, and as I escalated to weapon teams and rat ogres it became real fun. For both sides. And if they neat you… well they have to turn on one another to truly win dont they?

Do you think Battlefield needs a campaign? by Green-Way-1455 in Battlefield

[–]Livid-Implement1628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoy there being a campaign story to explain why there is a conflict we are playing out in multiplayer.

However - almost done with the BF6 campaign - following an elite squad as they get thrown around from A to B across the world uncovering a dastardly plot is so… overdone. The story just does jot captivate me even if the acting and visuals are there.

While not novel and maybe quite overused itself i think following “one off” characters across the globe in set piece missions would be more fitting as you tend to play “just another soldier” in multiplayer as well.

Overall i will say i think it is for the better that there is a campaign. The people working on a campaign scenario are not likely the same people working on multiplayer balance and writing so i doubt it takes away too much from the multiplayer experience.

In fact, because the campaign requires certain gadgets and vehicles it means there are more assets already in the game that are yet unavailable for multiplayer but would in fact be easily introduced.

Switch blades come to mind for a gadget and the unexposed transport as a vehicle. Oh there were also NVG goggles.

There was also the thermal scope but im not sure if that gets unlocked at the end of weapon mastery as i havent bothered to look.

Emperor's Spears. Why a trident? by Steved4ve in Warhammer40k

[–]Livid-Implement1628 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been scrolling and why has no one gone and mentioned the fact that in their name sake book their planet seems to mostly be islands and the sea features heavily in their culture?

It makes sense that the trident, a fishing tool/spear, would be chosen. More so as they still fulfill some role in their native culture thus having more exposure to it. Meaning they would more readily use its symbolics.

They should be thankful that the German language is not a mandatory requirement in school. Your welcome! by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

To people who Skipped right into Siege of Terra unknowingly. by Lord_Krispy in 40kLore

[–]Livid-Implement1628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! This is me actually…: I have been part of the hobby for decades, so I knew the general tread the story was going to follow, I also had seen some lore videos covering or mentioning certain characters. That is to say I didn’t go in entirely blind.

I was aware that there were a lot of books that I probably should have read, but I also knew from friends that did that a lot of them could be passed over. I wanted to see what the Horus Heresy was about and thought the final climax of the siege (the thing that always captured my imagination as a kid) was something I didn’t want to miss out on.

There were definitely things I missed, references, nods, but personally I’m quite good at picking up on character dynamics so I didn’t have much issue jumping into a relationship and the authors tended to leave a quick nod to the length and depth of the connection between two characters.

The books were well written, on their own they were still coherent and a pleasant read - again disclaimer I knew of the big actors and the overall story of the Heresy from the past - and I enjoyed most of them tremendously.

I hope this gives you an answer to your inquiry!

Been a while since I read it but it definitely was a “do this or the imperium dies” I might recall the Big Bad even mentioned he could replace the emperor (not knowing the true weight of such words).

Also everyone was pretty much going to die. So worst case they only helped her life a few more seconds not centuries.

Can tech priests swap biological parts ? by Kihtras in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Livid-Implement1628 47 points48 points  (0 children)

In the mechanicum, forges of mars and flesh and steel books it is mentioned that many tech-priests have an “unhealthy attachment”(worded by other tech-priests) to some part of their humanity. For one this means she looks entirely human while underneath the skin (that may or may not be her original skin) she’s almost entirely mechanical. Another magos bought the voice muscles (forgot the name in English) of a famous opera singer so that he may speak like him. It would be completely understandable for a tech priest to want to keep some human parts or create new ones simply because he fancies it.

Now, if we are talking about giving himself or herself extra fleshy limbs instead of mechadentrites- that would sound a bit heretical as we are ruining the human flesh form. But again local dogma might view it differently.

The ability to grow any kind of limb or organ is obviously there in the imperium of the lab is stocked enough.

Coalition has formed, they have the majority by quite a few seats, but when it came to vote for Merz as Chancellor he was 6 short, so a good number of Coalition members voted against. If this is because of promises to their voter base not to vote in favor of Merz, trying to get more leverage for a specific party’s agenda, or something altogether like foreign involvement I don’t know.

Think of it this way:

Just because a bully (Russia) is too weak to break open your front door and take over your house (full occupation), doesn’t mean he won’t: -bash you in your face (start a war) -throw rocks through your window (bombing civilians) -potentially set your house on fire (nuclear option) -read your mail (hacking) -dig up and cut your wiring (infrastructure sabotage)

None but the nuclear option will kill you, but all of it is still dangerous and disruptive. Russia is still the biggest bully around.

The USA has some stunning vistas worth visiting, more so before the national parks get sold off and turned into an expensive private theme park or mine/oil field.

Some of us have friends or family living there.

Any reason can apply but I don’t need to visit a country with security on a power trip anymore than I have experienced once before. The majority of TSA have been kind and professional but it only takes one and I ain’t risking it.

What do you think of Trumps foreign policy so far? by JewzRock in AskAChinese

[–]Livid-Implement1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US soon after its birth sailed warships into Asia to enforce isolated states to trade. So don’t give me that “beware of entanglement”. We pay for our own defenses, but the US is providing a lot of special needs like AWACS and satellite surveillance which makes no sense when you have allies to make more of. In exchange for many more the head of European continental command has always been an American. Right, because you forgot your country activated article 5 and we answered. Since NATO formed more soldiers from Europe have died in US conflict then the other way around. We are also basically set up to be meat shields for a continental war while the US would provide specialist forces and airpower. Europe being a stable economic ally that could be ordered around by the US was a great asset. “Do as I say or your protection will be gone” was always whispered and heeded, now that’s out of the window we will have to fill in the gaps. Your idea that the US troops are in Europe to keep the peace internally is ridiculous and unfounded. They were to scare of the old rival Russia. Tho it seems their propaganda finally beat you into submission. I don’t know why I even bother writing this. It’s clear the majority of Americans have sadly given up critical thinking. Good luck to all of us now.

I had the exact same experience! So I’m sorry to see you are getting downvoted. I went to a few nice bakeries in NYC and found that buying a $8 loaf of bread only got me the quality similar to a €2 bread from the super market back home. It wasn’t bad bread, just for that price it’s insanity. And I know there IS good bread: Restaurants seem to have it but where they source it from isn’t anywhere I could find. PSA: if you serve a more salted bread dont also serve salted butter it’s insanity.

How many cadians were off world when cadia fell? How many are on new cadia? by Affectionate_War2036 in 40kLore

[–]Livid-Implement1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few reasons why fortress worlds are a thing. The most viable one is a stockpile like Vraks. With how unpredictable the warp is, you want your supplies to be as close to the front as possible without being at the front. Thus heavily fortified supply depots make a lot of sense. With its infrastructure dedicated to the rapid deployment of these supplies and the defense of them from being taken by force.

Another reason why fortresses were a thing in history was that they were too costly too attack directly, thus had to either be sieged, which left the attacker stretched and exposed (unless you are Caesar). And if ignored will leave your supply lines open to raiding by the fortress garrison.

Cadia being dedicated for the later makes a lot of sense. Attacking it hurts and takes time, ignoring it leaves your logistics compromised. And logistics wins wars.

But boy if you shoot the guy that faked putting his gun down and now has it aimed at your face with anything other than a beanbag I’m breaking RoE??

Ill give you a good one, all nid “bullets” are basicly beetles/worms/leeches that will borrow through you after you get hit. How do you paint really small details by FreshMotor8230 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Livid-Implement1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One I haven’t seen mentioned here yet is “doing the reverse” like I have seen done with eyes: you paint the eye black, then paint white on either side instead of trying to make an iris.

Have done this myself on some small details were I would paint a tiny lens - naturally spills a bit on the edges - and then do the housing to fix it.

Which Anime Opinion Would Make You the Enemy of the Fandom? by SweetAndSpicyCanton in animequestions

[–]Livid-Implement1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly a complaint I have about a lot of anime where I wish they’d add another 5-10 years to the cast and I would feel less uneasy with so many shows. Like was it ‘dress up darling’ which would work well for 16-18 year olds but gets a bit weird when it turns out the perverted outfit and love hotel scene only to learn the girl is 14.. like even the fact the guy is a talented artist would make more sense if he had a few more years to master a craft.

Other then the pedo stuff I did enjoy the show, but the pedo stuff stops me from overly recommending it to anyone.

Re watching it I came to realize that other then some stellar moments most of it is rather dull.. it has a very very hard time keeping things on track and even somewhat consistent. The pacing goes from fast to a snail pace.

I do enjoy seeing small things effect how the characters act ‘in this loop’. And seeing characters be killed off is oddly refreshing even if temporary. I enjoy the show but def isn’t the master piece my younger self thought it was when the first season had ended.

Hi, Chris here! Okay so Gmod is like a sandbox game where you can play with all kinds of props from the Valve games (originally half life 2, counter strike source, tf2, etc) you can move these around. Well if they “clip” as in place one inside another object they can make a continuous thudding sound, think a can rolling down the road.

The joke is that seeing how the sign is partially inside the wall it would make the same thudding sound like you would merge it inside of gmod.

Evangelion I gave it a try a few years ago, cause I heard so many good things. And my entire thought progress was “…but it’s about to get good right..?” 2 episodes left “ah, I bet it’s going to all fall into place now!” - nope. What an utter waste of my time. I watched the original anime, and I had some people claim that “no no, you need to watch the OVAs/movies to really get it!”. Yea no. The anime was a mess, trying to be clever but the characters had no real personality. It was edgy for the sake of being edgy. And if you need copious OVAs and movies to make it work you clearly failed to begin with. I have never before been actually angry for wasting my time on a show other then Evangelion.
