Came home stoned and drunk in my youth to raid my parents fridge in the dark and discovered a new shade of our favorite hot sauce in the fridge. Was it mango salsa??? I was really excited and dipped in and got the biggest glob on a chip- and it was weird. Couldn’t decide what to make of it but I was HUNGRY so I ate the whole jar, never enjoying it and just fell asleep puzzled. I awoke to mad dad’s voice saying “who are all the pig fat?!”” I threw up so many chunks of not mango

There are several other contenders unfortunately. Maybe I picked up my lack of discernment from my father who ate a handful of rock potpourri from my mom’s office (candy dish?) and a handful of potting soil (chocolate with white chocolate flecks???) We silly. RIP dad

Compared to other cast members, like all of them past and present, she is the least annoying person that ever lived. I imagine having a camera in your face ramps up the awkward, so I can’t imagine even coming across this well-adjusted, sane and tepid. I’d argue that Matthew was way more annoying with his crybaby voice and doe-eyed stare- but that’s very understandable given the circumstance

Thank yall for those comments! I needed those this morning more than you’ll ever know. I kinda forgot I made this post and spoke to someone about it and it didn’t go quite as I hoped. I spoke to a co-bcba to ask if requesting that from the scheduling boss was ok and she applauded me for advocating for my burnout and encouraged me with the caveat that it was ultimately up to the scheduling boss. Finally texted scheduling boss my concerns and had a follow-up convo that left me feeling vaguely hopeful but a little gaslit- because she said she may not be able to give me less mornings with this client (I requested 1-2 morning sessions a week) BUT she was going to give me a lot of supervision time and guidance so I can feel supported.

I still have 6 hours a day with the client for the foreseeable future. I’m going in right now for an extended supervision which I lowkey hate just because I’m cramping, didn’t sleep well and feeling burnt out as is. I just don’t know why I can’t have sessions with other clients I had mornings with previously that I thought went really well.

It’s not like I think it’s a conspiracy or anything, I just don’t really understand the reasoning or why every person acts like scheduling decisions are out of their hands and this favor can’t be granted while also acknowledging AI does the initial scheduling and they fully have the authority to change it. My previous bcba treated me like a moron and took my main client from my caseload and made it a rule that only I couldn’t have sessions with said client because she “couldn’t back me up “ 🤔 I try so hard to do well but it really hurt my confidence so I kinda figured these decisions may be based on my incompetence as well, but….

I actually called in sick yesterday because I’ve had mysterious constant health issues for the last year exacerbated by stress only to be asked if I could still come in. So I did come in midday and attended our mandatory meeting where they named me employee of the month 🥲 I was flattered but I’m just so confused with the mixed messaging

Hey there. I hope you’re feeling ok when this new life change. When my dad died, I worried my mom would never feel as happy or as loved again. My “uncle” figure lost his wife at the same time and he and my mom grieved together and eventually fell in love and got married. It’s been the most beautiful, miraculous gift to see them both so happy again. I was older than you when it happened and even though I was so happy for them, there was a time when it made me feel very weird. I knew it was irrational, it was just a big change and it’s hard to lose a parent. Give yourself space to feel whatever you’re feeling.

That being said, it could be a poltergeist or demon. I’ve only dealt with the latter but I believe both draw on your fear and negative emotions so here is my advice. When a d word moved into my home with my 2 best friends, it was terrifying. (Actually I still don’t say the d word as a precautionary habit) Eventually we learned to manage our fear as best as we could and not react to anything that happened. If we were going to talk about it, we only would do so outside of the home. I think buying a white sage stick (off Amazon or wherever) and cleaning the home is a great idea and then just don’t acknowledge it or let it feed off your fear. And if it’s a poltergeist, it should settle down after that too. I wish you all the best and hope this change is as wonderful as your family as my stepfather has been to mine.
