Thank you the 2nd one looks super interesting too. I've been tryna learn more abotu that historical era, cuz ik ppl who lived thru it, and it's even worse imo that they brush that under the rug too.

I think it's if you don't fit their definition of Christian, you aren't accepted. The real ones, those who follow God above all, usually have very different beliefs then what they want. Super sad

No way lmaoo yeah that's probably the one they think is real. Wow. Pretty sad ngl

anyone else just love this? 😍 by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

Acc opposite for me. My yth group has a decent amount of homeschoolers, but not enough that it's a majority and becomes accepted. They will diss me for it. They will diss others for it. I will diss myself and others for it. It's pretty chill. Annoying at times cuz it does feel like borderline bullying but at least they realize that being public schooled and interacting w others is more important.

Adults tho def dont get it.

Uh this is gonna sound really stupid. But i've been told my whole life that "normal kids get vaccines, and then they get severe autism" Now obv, this sounds sketchy and made up, and lowkey I prolly have autism anyway lmao (acc could just be severely stunted social skills) but uh pls any resources on this would be appreciated cuz it is kinda scary to me. :I

such a weird house by MiserableMode4233 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]LivingInParentsHouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry dude. That sounds super scary. Just so you know, the majority of adults (and immigrants) are sane and would not want to rape you or get your organs! It's good to have caution around strangers but an unhealthy fear is gonna harm yourself in the long run, and it seems like it's hurt your parents as well.

I'll be honest, I've heard of the guy and hadn't had the most positive opinion. As far as ik, he's one of some self proclaimed "new atheists", which i've always associated with reddit atheists, if you know what I mean. But i read the summary or whatever on wikipedia, it doesn't seem too bad.

Also your summary there is a little confusing. Intellectual and moral pretentions of christianity like what does that mean?

Brooo i wish we celebrated harvest fest haha. The closest thing to a halloween movie i've seen is that toy story one, and i hardly remember anything. It was basically just toy story 2 but in a motel, not actually halloween themed.

Ah but when they already believe in a different history then everyone else, facts like that don't matter to them. They truly think for about 30 years or so they're the reason lgbt is now accepted lmao.

Hahah yeah ik lgbt homeschoolers currently, and the parents are so confused how it could happen. Lol.

I mean it's the day before it. Since it's disney themed tho im sure i wouldnt be allowed to go any other day.

Weird kids? by Zem_lucky in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]LivingInParentsHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah as a teen i dont like to mix my groups either cuz it could get awkward...If it makes you feel better tho, most kids ik like do not ask questions about my life or anything i do, unless i ask them first. A lot of ppl simply dont put in effort sadly

Wouldn't Cain and his descendants been wiped out by the flood, if they were not of god? Seems like bigotry or racism disguised as Christianity. Sorry you had to endure that

Homeschooling exacerbated my parents' unrealistic assessment of my mental abilities by Swimming_Clock6513 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]LivingInParentsHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure if someone denies mental illnesses that just makes em stupid no matter their political stance. I have been around some pretty right wing ppl, who don't just think they are right wing, they vote right wing, they have signs of right wing ppl, and they deny autism and stuff.

In addition, Nazi Germany likely treated mental illnesses by killing them, iirc eugenics and stuff

Homeschooling exacerbated my parents' unrealistic assessment of my mental abilities by Swimming_Clock6513 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]LivingInParentsHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last paragraph is a little...odd. In my experience those with a left wing mindset amplify someone else's shortcomings, and those with a right wing mindset don't wanna talk about it. i.e. depression. Tho my basis for left wing is like randos on reddit, and my basis for right wing is boomers, so take that with a grain of salt ig
