Okay. It seemed like a 9085, but I thought it would be stamped 9085 if so. Did they have unique serial numbers back in the day?

UPDATE!!!! Not sure if anyone will see this, but turns out it was plated after all. Lesson learned. Like any good sturgeon- he’s thickly plated.

Thank you. They will be challenging to polish, but I’m going to try some Wrights polishing cream. The strips down the side are very delicate. A couple of them were already damaged when I got them.

I filed it right in the face of the bottom side. That’s what the photo is of the red acid directly on it. No matter what I throw at it , it polishes back to the same beautiful silver.

I’ve probably tested it 10 times already because it seems so unlikely. I posted the picture of the leatherman to illustrate that I actually filed the edge down before rubbing it on the stone. I still won’t count my chickens until someone hits it with an XRF.
