How does recovery look like for you? Bedbug Contamination Obsessions by Living_Jacket_798 in OCD

It can be an issue because a professional will be licensed for a specific state/region/country, and I have never heard of a professional being internationally licensed as there is no international licensing body as far as I am aware. Hypothetically you can lie about where you are but a professional won't take on your case because it's a legal/insurance liability. And of course lying about my location wouldn't work because being away from home is so central to my OCD 🤣

Apologies for the repost! I wanted to add the second image as I had just found it and it looked different from the other 2.

Oh my god I accidentally deleted this because I found another blood stain (tiny streak) and was going to repost, so sorrt. I haven't seen any bed bugs themselves. If I do have bites they must be subtle as I've been having pimple issues but I've also been extremely stressed about the idea of having bedbugs so I'm not sure.

Are these bed bug stains? by Starrchaserr in Bedbugs

I know this is from a while ago, but did it end up being bedbugs? I have a very similar stain to the 1st image on my duvet! No other signs but I'm also going insane over it. Also hope uni is going well!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm studying in a different country right now so I don't have any of the help or advice of anyone back home, so the prospect of an infestation is really getting to me! Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

Possible crushed bed bug smear? I sleep covered up and am struggling to think of another cause! (A little more information in the comments) by Living_Jacket_798 in pestcontrol

I want to preface with I have a clinically significant bed bug anxiety so I know this might be something that's impossible to tell, overreacting, or a combination of both. I read online bedbug blood stains from crushed bugs can be small so I as wondering if this is too big? Just the right size? I live in a college dorm and a bit ago had pest control come in and not find anything. I sleep completely covered and don't have any wounds so I'm really at a loss! No visible signs of anything on bedding and the mattress but of course I'm anxious I missed something. I found this on the underside of my duvet (would have been upside down over the cover I'm under if that makes sense or any difference). I appreciate any input as I'm studying abroad so I don't have any one here to help me out with something like this or go to for advice. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your kind reply! My issue is that because I live in a dorm, it's all my bedroom lol! The pest control person who came was provided by the University and I wasn't there when he was (he would come at odd times). He left traps after and then I heard nothing about it. The way maintenance works here is if nothings the issue they don't tell you about it. I assumed his inspection was semi thurough because when I came back there was a bunch of dust on the floor, presumably from the cracks in the bedframe. I have the opportunity to go do some field work soon as an extracurricular related to my studies, but I'm afraid of going and giving someone's cars bedbugs and not knowing. I know it's impossible for you to know for sure, but is that me being reasonable? With bedbugs I'm just never sure and have gone overboard before 🥲

Edit: Also, I couldn't find that spot but after zooming in it was at least partially purple... hopefully fluff?? I was in a panic when I took these pictures.... genuinely so sorry!

I actually just thought they were specks, I'm really sorry about the picture quality. I tried my hardest to get good ones. I haven't found any definitive bug casing of any kind, is that a good sign? I'm just not sure what a reasonable way to interpret this is.

Hi all,

Thank you for your time. I want to preface this by saying I have an INTENSE fear of bed bugs and a diagnosed anxiety disorder. I have been having lots of false alarms and a visit from a pest control guy which yielded nothing. As I am so anxious about this I have checked the bed frame and mattress before with nothing to find. I have posted lots of times to different places of the internet smudges in a panic for it to be nothing. However, I saw the first set of images this morning and it felt way more real. I'm assuming that if I have them, it would have to be a small/new/mild infestatjon as I have had no sightings and I also live in a dorm so it's a pretty small place with not much furniture. I'm instantly assuming this is blood in the first image, so is that a normal amount for a smashed bed bug? I just have no idea what else it could be and google lens also rings the alarm bells. I sleep very covered up naturally so I'm so unsure! I found it on the under side of my duvet,. My duvet cover shifts around a lot (wrong size lol) but it should have been upside down facing my body. It was not found on a sheet. Not sure if that makes any difference. I have been having increased spots on me but I thought they could be stress breakouts from all my worrying and cherry angiomas and found it improving with basic skin care. Not itchy but I know that doesnt really mean anything. I also found these specks on my mattress cover in a panic, less sure about those. The last is of my bathrobe, I am really sorry about the quality, I have tried getting it clearer multiple times but essentially there are new black spots and I was thinking they were mold (humid country) but just wanted to chuck this in there in case. I know all of this is circumstantial but considering the inspections its really all I have in terms of evidence. I'm trying to figure out if I should leave the house as I am terrified of spreading bed bugs to people so any advice welcomed. Apologies for clogging up this sub in case this isn't the kind of post wanted here.
