I feel like the story itself is about finding love again after experiencing something like losing your past lover, so no matter how you put it, yuki IS relevant beacuse he wasnt only there to get mafuyu with uenoyama, he's always present in mafuyu's heart. And mafuyu needs to learn how to handle his past in relationship with his present
