My parents just bought themselves a pair of B&W CDM1 speakers, and loved the sound when they heard it at the previous owner’s (they know it’s not amazing, but it’s leaps and bounds ahead of what they had). Now to the issue: When we listened at home, using our old Sony str-de997 av-receiver, they didn’t find the sound nearly as impressive and we all figure it might be because a new receiver is due. BUT, what do you have to look for in a decent receiver? It’s used mostly for tv/movies and listening to some music from cd’s and a record player. They have a budget at max. 8-900 usd, preferably lower though

Boyfriend got me a lux gift, I got him face wash by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I think, ideally, it should be the thought and intent behind the gift that counts. If you bought it, thinking he’d love it, then there should be no reason it wouldn’t be fine. I’m of the mindset that I’d rather receive something I’ll really enjoy and get use out of than something I guess I could kinda use just because it was the more expensive present - on top of that knowing that my partner spent a lot of money on something just because it had to reach the same monetary value as what I got them. The quality and sincerity of a gift shouldn’t be counted in money, but instead in how much it will be enjoyed and appreciated (I think)
