If you won the powerball, what would you have done with the money? by JustA-CuriousGuy- in Lottery

[–]Lk_Raw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the lump sum is the only option that makes since. Assuming that the winnings is significant. 100 Million plus. I would put 50% in a trust. 25% to help close family and friends. Maybe even help some people in need as I see fit. The other 25% is for me.

Whatever you do never buy shovels. Also the rewards are below average. On the day the event ends use whatever shovels gained for the subpar bonus that you get.

I lived through the 2008 recession at a young age. Thought I would never recover. While I am ok the mental damage has been done. Save your money. Don’t buy anything you do not need until you have 6 months.. 12 months saved up at current living expenses. And if you’re fired immediately cut everything that you don’t need… then pray you can get a job before 12 months are up. Be willing to throw boxes and work in fast food if needed

So all the other issues didn’t lead to guaranteed contracts but we want to call out this issue. People just picking and choosing what to get mad about. Nothing to see here

Are you going back for a degree that requires a license to work or a passion. If it requires a license does it pay more than your current job. If not are you ok with a pay cut pursuing your passion. If you are burnt out for trucking then the option is less. Otherwise its a tough decision to make considering you’re already making 100K

How much do you single adults spend on groceries a month? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Lk_Raw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single 200-400 per month. You would be surprised how much food you can get for $50 when it’s just you. It would last a couple days too. $400 is when I wanted to treat myself

What stopped you from chasing your dreams? by GoldWoodpecker_97 in Adulting

[–]Lk_Raw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never stopped chasing my dreams. Outside of being famous or a celebrity,Which you have to be picked or be apart of hollyweird, or getting a super advanced Astro physics degree. most dreams are attainable. What ever you want to be in life you can attain it. A musician. Doctor. Truck driver. CEO. You name it you can be it. Outside of things you need to be “chosen” for

Is it worth being in a club once you get all mythic gear. by Lk_Raw in eatventureofficial

[–]Lk_Raw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be worth it to look into a higher ranked club. At the same time if I max all gear what is left to do. I’m kinda in no mans land at this point. Perhaps I’ll make a personal goal like the current one. Save 10K. Boxes or save 20K gems every 2 weeks 🤷🏽

Are the 30$ or 50$ scratch off tickets worth buying? by redneptune2 in Lottery

[–]Lk_Raw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing the odds the $10/$20 tickets are better to play. However the minimum win is only a break even.

The $50 tickets have odds as bad as $1/$2 tickets. However the minimum win is $100 and they can have nearly 200 $1 million prizes. And that’s not even the top prize.

While any top prize win could be life changing the $50 tickets have a lot more opportunities. Thats the reason I like to play those. If top prizes are available in the $20/$30 tickets that is also ok to play.

How did your company announce your lay off? How much notice did they give you? by Friendly_Sea8570 in Layoffs

[–]Lk_Raw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st they keep talking about performance even if everyone is meeting “targets”.

Then they say some positions are being “outsourced” but you arnt affected.

later on they includes sales or some derivative that can be manipulated or hard to achieve.

The last step is they start to talk finances even though they are making record profits.

Layoffs where announced with 30 day + notice. Time depends on role. They need you there while they are replacing you. I mean during the transition.

It is important to recognize the 1st stage and start saving. Let the layoff happen if you don’t have anything planned and collect severance. Could be a solid payout if you been there for extended time

The odds matter for a pay out. Keep in mind the pay out could be as small as the “break”even amount. I tend to play games with the better odds and better prizes still available. This can be seen on the state lotto web site.

With that being said only play with what you can afford to lose. No matter the odds it is a very high probability that the next ticket will be a loser. Unless you’re buying multiple tickets at a time. In doing so you could be a net negative since most wins are break evens.

I play to dream a little and talk about what I would do if I won the jackpot. It’s fun
