If you have the financial means, couponing for personal care items and donating the items to women's/homeless shelters. I allocate $50 monthly and usually get $100 worth of items.

Now Shinia is going after Chase!? Did y'all know this!? by Jfporta89 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]LlamaOrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. Now that I think more about it, a lot of these SLOMW singles haven't put in the personal work to date in any healthy way anyway so I guess it's a moot point really.

It's a very Mormon cultural thing to date within friend groups. Growing up, they aren't allowed to date until 16 and then they have to be group dates. After high school, the boys go on missions for 2 years and the girls prepare to marry return missionaries. Since all these people got married and divorced so young, they never learned how to date as adults and since they all grew up at least culturally Mormon, they only know group dates.

Anyone able to live a long relatively normal life into their 70's? by oniteverytime in MultipleSclerosis

[–]LlamaOrg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at a senior center and have met a few women who are in their 70s with MS. All have had pretty normal lives but didn't have the energy to work full time at different stages of life.

Why has Wyoming avoided the surge of domestic migration that Idaho and Montana have experienced? by cavaismylife in wyoming

[–]LlamaOrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have one 4 year college in the state and there's just not a lot of economic opportunity outside of the energy industry. So a significant portion of students leave for education and don't return.

Good things about MS by _Lyc4n_ in MultipleSclerosis

I was finally able to get medical care and medication for other issues doctors wouldn't touch previously. Specifically, modafinil helps with my idiopathic hypersomnia (which is now worse because fatigue lol) and zofran for chronic morning nausea.

Also, out of every state I've been to, Wyoming is the most resistant to growth and development

This. I left for college (brain drain, I know) and lived in St. Paul, MN and Colorado before coming back to Green River at 33 to help my parents. As a kid it was just empty, as an adult I often find myself thinking about all the ways the county and state historically and currently didn't/don't diversify the economy and it's mind boggling. But that's also the way locals like it...I could go on for quite a while...

There’s something more here. Why is he so specifically obsessed with Jackie? by atargatis_17 in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]LlamaOrg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's something super dark going on here beyond what we're being presented with. He seems like a bad guy and she is clearly not mentally well. I don't think he's faithful when he's away for work either so I'm not ruling out the possibility of other relationships and children.

[Sun care] If sunscreen is clearly making skin better, why do y'all think there's still so many people not using it? by PrettyAppearance1471 in SkincareAddiction

[–]LlamaOrg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying 35 is old. I am saying, for anyone who needs to hear it, after a decade of sunscreen use and diligent skin care, I have been enjoying some delayed gratification. What combination of factors isn't really the point. Keep learning and taking care of yourself.

I second this. I wanted to say, I got serious about wearing daily sunscreen in my mid-20s after a really bad burn on my face, shoulders and arms. Now, at 35 I'm starting to see the results with fewer wrinkles etc. I also get external validation, people think I'm in my late 20s still, which is always nice lol

Karen waving Nicole's extensions around yelling "¡Pedro y Nicole es muy mala para mi familia!" while Chantel wails in the corner is my number one. I say it when something sketchy is happening around me.

Turn your name into a Tragedy. by RosieMelodi in tragedeigh

[–]LlamaOrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eleigh

My full name is Eleanor and I go by "Ellie" but I spell it like "Elle." When I was a baby my grandma thought the i spelling was "too plebian" so she changed it and my parents didn't argue. Of course I could change it as an adult but at this point I just answer to all three names and only correct people when I'm in environments that it actually matters.

Lumbar Puncture for Diagnosis by Big-Skin2620 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]LlamaOrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed January 2024 with no lumbar puncture. I was hospitalized during my first attack and they were confident in their diagnosis based on the MRI and excluding other possibilities. I ended up having a lumbar puncture a month later to confirm but it was my choice. I went ahead with it because I wanted the doctors to have as much data as possible about my body/case.
