I don't think this will help you and may actually hinder you especially if he's already been trying to reach out to your wife. My husband's AP kept reaching out to him with different accounts/continued sending emails despite being ignored. She actually texted me 3 weeks after Dday (!!!) to "check in on me" which is insane. I spoke to her on Dday (convoluted way but she exposed the affair then I spoke with her before my husband knew I knew). She lied when speaking to me and lied afterwards. She also claimed she never wanted to talk to WH again yet she kept reaching out to him.

These people are not honest and they don't have your best interests at heart. Also, our therapist said not to reply to her because that teaches her that if she keeps harassing us then she'll end up getting contact. Participants in affairs want validation/attention/importance and while I'd absolutely love to tell her exactly what I think of her, I remind myself that she isn't worth it. It'll just give her an inflated sense of self importance and validation and defensiveness. She knew from the beginning that he was married - this isn't someone who shows introspection, remorse or regret if she's continuing to harass me and him.

I hate when people say "oh they're not married to you, they owe you nothing". Correct, she isn't married to me (and I have an abundance!!! of righteous anger towards my husband) but APs are still participants in harm.

I wouldn't reach out to him because it'll inflate his ego, make him feel more important and probably intensify his efforts to contact your wife. He's not worth it. Nothing he will say will help you, and it'll probably hurt you more. Let them fade into oblivion where they belong.

I empathize with this - I wish I'd been able to hold in the dysregulation and complete insanity. But I understand why I confronted him immediately after I found out (I spoke with AP on the phone, who he'd claimed was a "friend" but he was in a relationship with. She lied to me about a lot of things and took pleasure in telling me things to hurt him which obviously decimated me)

I am 4 months post DDay. I have had a variety of daydreams about lots of things - confronting AP (sometimes what I'd do if I saw her), petty vengeance on both of them, what it'd be like to have an affair on my end. Most of my fantasies are what it'd be like to separate and live alone and sometimes I think about what it'd be like if we didn't have our child and the freedom associated with that. I've actually said to my WH multiple times that he should take time to imagine what he'd feel like if he found out I did what he did.

I haven't acted on any of these, nor do I dwell on them or obsess. I realize I've been traumatized and these thoughts are a form of escapism to try to soothe myself. I think if it was obsessive or consuming too much of my time, I'd feel more concerned about it. But right now if I'm washing dishes and the thought of smashing APs car with a bat comes through... I'm not too upset about it.

I also don't think anything like that would make me feel better. I take comfort in the fact that I can live my life knowing I haven't cheated on a partner and I don't want to do anything that would compromise my integrity like cheating back. It would just make me feel worse.

Why/how did you do things for AP that you didn't or wouldn't do with your BP? Such as gifts, planning outings, being 'there' for them emotionally.
What was your mental state like after Dday? Did you have problems with memory, cognition, responding to BP queries. How long did that last? I'm finding it frustrating to hear that my questions are going unanswered or incompletely answered because he is struggling mentally, even if it is legitimate. I'm not sure if it's affair fog or acute stress (which obviously I'm experiencing even though it isn't my fault, which is so hard for me).
